WHATS THE BEST DEFENCE AGAINST THREE-POINT RAIN?

your own 3 point rain

Putting a hand in your opponent's face (up on right analog stick, or take charge if you don't have a dual analog gamepad) works if you are close enough and get there in time. The absolute best defence is to go for the block every time.
But as Malignant said, sometimes your best defence is a superior offense.

Thanx for replies. But what I wanted to learn actually was whether I can always apply to man to man defence or different strategy to be always in front of the 3 pointer shooters to raise my hand as my opponent always moves the ball often to create a free shooting space for three point rain...It is quite annoying to see him free and raining the 3 points.Thanx

A zone defence will clog the lane and prevent penetration, but will likely give a three point shooter the room he needs. Man to man is effective, but if as I said, if you get caught up on a player setting a pick, he's going to have an open look. Double-teaming is effective, either manually through the Quick plays or by choosing to double team him in the Defensive Matchups screen (found in Team Strategy).

If you double Team, you'll always have an open man standing somewhere. Choose High Pressure Defense like Half Court Press. Therefore your Defense under the rim is bad and you cannot stop penetration easily, but you have always a guy and can put your hands in his face, when he is going to shoot 3s.

Man to man is sufficient for trying to stop 3 pt gunners. Be careful of the picks and screens. Try the autoswitch defense (is this correct? i forgot the name). The defense adjusts on a play, like the pick and roll, so that you will still be able to have a defender on every player. Just watch out for the mismatches that could happen.

If you play full court press you will usually force the offense to waist some shot clock time and/or make a bad pass for an easy steal. It's also harder for them to get off good treys. Sometimes they may get a charging foul.
Full Court press will increase you chances to pickup silly fouls and make you players tired but it's worth it if you can get a few 8-12 pt runs to get a good lead then let your guys rest at the end of the first 3 qtrs.
