injury numbers in player stats after the game

Thu Mar 02, 2006 4:43 am

i have a problem. i play in a nba live league were injurys are important.
the porblem is, at the end of a game you cant find out wether a player who gets hurt can continue or is really injured!

i found out loocking in the player stats after the game, that the column "gs" (i guess games startet) has only for the injured player an entry.

i saw numbers like

2
3 (the player could continue the game)
258
259 (the 259 was a player who could not re-enter the game!!).

my theory is that the high numbers are real injurys and the low numbers light ones.

can anybody confirm that oder has informations?

thanks a lot in advance

it'll also help me if you tell me which numbers in the "gs" column appear in your stats file after an injury (and then the most important thing: wether the player was able to continue playing or not)

The field you want to look for in players.dbf is ISPLAYABLE. If that's set to False, then the player's status has been designated as Injured-Unplayable.

thanks for the answer andrew but i think this wont help me!

i want to know this for exhibition games!

after an exhibtion game in which a player got hurt, in the "gs" column there is a number for the injury and i need the information whether you can find out ( by the number) if the player is badly injured or not.

in my online league injuries play an important role if the injury was a "real" injury. and if the injury is at the end of a game, you can only decide this by the number in the "gs" column.

As far as I'm aware, all of the GS related columns are for the Games Started (previous year, previous playoffs, current season, current playoffs) statistic. The dbf information shouldn't update after an Exhibition game.

of course gs menas games startet!
but pay attention if you play an online exhibiton game and a player gehts hurt, after the game is a number only for the injured one in the gs column!
and the numbers i had were 2,3, 258 and 259.

in the injury.dbf file there are injury numbers and a column for "is playable"
but the numbers tgere stop at 77!
and i am not sure if the numbers in this file correspond to the injury id in the gs column.

It means the same thing. Andrew he is talking about people who have the save stat patch. On the player stat section it comes up a little different. But GS still means the same, and those numbers (3-258-259) do mean exactly what said. It has to do with injuries and if a player can come back. I've only seen those numbers so I assume its just those four.

Well, I've never seen that behaviour in the dbf with any of the GS columns but then again I don't participate in any leagues or play online so I guess I can't be of any help here.
