Sit wrote:Hey X... u gonna keep everyone's scores or u want us to calculate them ourselves?

I'll probably just calculate them at some random interval, or at the end when I get time to announce the winner on the day....

Mark. wrote:The cards worked out well dude, Maybe for the cards where it says "late first round" you should put the "late first round" under "projection", just so it fits nicer. Im looking forward to seeing the cards for the Real Life Rookies (Y)

yep, cards were great....I'll try the late 1st Rd idea next season as I've completed all the cards....didn't use the layer style as it never seemed to look that great with my mediocre cutting ability

real life rookie cards will be up soon enough as I go through scouting....Europe is probably the next scouting destination I'd say, although the Euro cards ain't that great as the pics are very low quality compared to the college pics....

Thu Feb 23, 2006 4:38 pm

since it's just the 3 of us picking I'll allocate points for picks....

if you pick the correct series outcome (winner & games won and lost) = 1.0 points
if you pick the correct team to advance = 0.5 points
if you pick wrong team = 0.0 points

I'm glad I got 12 guys in this, that's a great turnout for the dynasty  congrats to cwebbiverson, who appears to be putting his career in his own hands....as for Sit, pick up your game or you could bounce around the league at will  ....I'll probably have to amend how the "power" values work....probably better than .500 you might be able to demand trade....will see how everyone finishes up & work it from there....

Thu Feb 23, 2006 4:49 pm

Spur 2-1 Rockets
Grizzlies 2-1 Grizzlies

Detroit 2-1 Sixers
Nets 2-0 Hawks.

Fri Feb 24, 2006 4:06 am

Wow Hawks actually defeated Miami, crazy. I go with:

SA 2-1 HOU
MEM 2-0 GSW

DET 2-1 PHI
NJN 2-0 ATL

Fri Feb 24, 2006 6:30 am

Oo, nice. I'm tied for second place :) But damn, Atlanta beat Miami.. Did Miami happen to have Wade and Shaq injured at the same time or something?

Round 2 predictions:
San Antonio 2 - Houston 0
Memphis 2 - Golden State 1
Detroit 2 - Philadelphia 1
Atlanta 1 - New Jersey 2

Fri Feb 24, 2006 10:09 am

Malfa wrote:how did yoy play the 3 point contest even though you had no players in it?

did it out of the dynasty....but in future I'm not going to do that....if I'm invited, I go....if not, I don't....

as for the 1st Rd, only Jugs & I were good enough to pick the massive upset  after losing to Hawks during season, I realised they were a definite chance....other results, everyone picked Spurs to win....everyone got Pistons & sweep correct....most people also stumble in the Philly-Cleveland & Warriors-Nuggets matchups....better luck in the 2nd Rd guys....

EDIT: Maybe winning gives an additional 1.5 points overall, 2nd 1.0 points overall and 0.5 points overall, and coming dead last maybe -0.5 points overall....wouldn't affect the overall aggregates too much, but a little bit of incentive for staying in all rounds to try and win....what do you reckon Sit?!?

Fri Feb 24, 2006 3:30 pm

Its good... well.. maybe u can deduct and add a small bonus for those who enter all rounds... sounds good (Y)

PLAYOFFS 2nd ROUND RESULTS

Here are the results from the 2nd Round of the playoffs....

WEST

(1) San Antonio defeats (8) Houston 2-0

Image

The Spurs keep on rolling as they bounce Yao and his Rockets in 2 straight games. Can anyone outside the Pistons really stop this team?!?

San Antonio: B. Bowen - 18.0ppg, 6.0rpg, 2.75spg
Houston: Yao - 18.0ppg, 10.3rpg, 4.0apg, 1.50bpg, 55.6% FG

(6) Memphis defeats (7) Golden State 2-0

Image

The Grizzlies continued their fairytale run as they got by the young Warriors in 2 tightly contested matchups. The well-balanced Grizzlies will meet the Spurs in the Western Conference Finals.

Memphis: P. Gasol - 25.4ppg, 11.8rpg, 3.00bpg, 52.3% FG
Golden State: J. Richardson - 14.6ppg, 4.6rpg, 4.0apg, 2.00spg, 41.7% 3Pt

EAST

(1) Detroit defeats (5) Philadelphia 2-1

Image

The Sixers played the Pistons about as tough as you could expect but just got blown away in the deciding game. It's a shame The Answer's game was somewhere else in this series, otherwise Philadelphia could have pushed the Pistons to the brink.

Detroit: R. Wallace - 22.4ppg, 9.8rpg, 3.00bpg, 54.2% FG, 42.9% 3Pt
Philadelphia: A. Iverson - 15.8ppg, 5.6rpg, 8.4apg, 3.40spg, 33.7% FG, 23.1% 3Pt

(2) New Jersey defeats (6) Atlanta 2-0

Image

After upstaging the Heat, the Hawks must have got it into their heads that they could take anyone. Unfortunately Jason Kidd rocked into town and blew them away, to sweep them out of the playoffs, and move the Nets into another Easter Conference Final, this time against the tough Detroit Pistons.

New Jersey: J. Kidd - 19.5ppg, 4.5rpg, 7.0rpg, 2.00spg, 0.5TO/g
Atlanta: M. Williams - 20.8ppg, 11.4rpg, 3.2TO/g

PLAYOFF TREE (After Round 2)

Image

Only four remain, they have been battle-tested and will face off in the Conference Finals. In the West we once again have the Spurs battling to move onto the NBA Finals for the 2nd straight season, this time against the upstart Memphis Grizzlies. In the East, for the third straight year, the Detroit Pistons will look to move on, this time they face up against the New Jersey Nets.

X's CONFERENCE FINALS PREDICTIONS:

Here are my Conference Finals' predictions. Please click on a team's name to go to their current playoff roster.

WEST

(1) San Antonio defeats (6) Memphis 2-0

The Grizzlies have had a great run, but unfortunately key 6th man, Bobby Jackson, is injured and out for the rest of the series. Without his spark, I can't see the Grizzlies even scaring the Spurs. San Antonio wins in 2 to move on to NBA Finals.

Image

EAST

(1) Detroit defeats (2) New Jersey 2-0

Just as you think the Nets might have enough in the tank to advance to the NBA Finals, a snap in Jason Kidd's wrist is enough to end the hopes of all Nets' faithful. Pistons should be able to take this one in two to advance for a rematch against the Spurs.

Results for Conference Finals will be up when they are up....I've got a lot going on in my life at the moment, some good and some not so good, but yeah, get your predictions in....
