For Qweet (FCP installer info)

Sun Jun 01, 2003 12:23 am

Hey Qweet,

I was trying to post this at your forum but it wouldn't work...and error came up that says 'invalid_session' so i'll PM you...

Well i've finished making all of my fictional cyberfaces...and i've been thinking about how the installer will turn out a lot! i've thought it through so hard...and i'll do my best to try and explain exactly how i want it ro turn out...I drew up how i imagine it in photoshop! :D

Still deciding whether the porgram should copy the files as you start up the prog or whether it should copy the files of the cyberface you choose at the end of the setup...?

Image

this is the first part of the setup. it's just like the introduction kinda thing. it'll say that you should know the name of the player that you want to install a cyberface for...and some other stuff.
If you click on then it exits the prog, when you click yes, it continues to the next part...

Image

When you've decided who you're going to install a cyberface for, you type his first and last name in so that the prog knows who to search for. then choose the "are you using XP?" option...click yes or no, this is so that the prog knows where abouts to search in... because XP's my documents is different to 95/98/ME/2000's. which you know. then once you've told it who and where to searh, you have to tell it what to change...so you pick which cyberface you want to install...there will be a drop down menu with 16 faces to choose from.
Here's the data i want changed for each of the cyberfaces:

Cyberface 1: PLAYERPKG: 0acustm. ISCREATED: False. COLOR: 0. EYECOLOR: 0.

Cyberface 2: PLAYERPKG: 0bcustm. ISCREATED: False. COLOR: 0.

Cyberface 3: PLAYERPKG: 1acustm. ISCREATED: False. COLOR: 1. EYECOLOR: 2.

Cyberface 4: PLAYERPKG: 1bcustm. ISCREATED: False. COLOR: 1. EYECOLOR: 0.

Cyberface 5: PLAYERPKG: 1ccustm. ISCREATED: False. COLOR: 1.

Cyberface 6: PLAYERPKG: 2acustm. ISCREATED: False. COLOR: 2.

Cyberface 7: PLAYERPKG: 2bcustm. ISCREATED: False. COLOR: 2.

Cyberface 8: PLAYERPKG: 3acustm. ISCREATED: False. COLOR: 3. EYECOLOR: 0. HAIRTYPE: 4.

Cyberface 9: PLAYERPKG: 3bcustm. ISCREATED: False. COLOR: 3. EYECOLOR: 0.

Cyberface 10: PLAYERPKG: 3ccustm. ISCREATED: False. COLOR: 3. EYECOLOR: 0. HAIRTYPE: 1.

Cyberface 11: PLAYERPKG: 4acustm. ISCREATED: False. COLOR: 4. EYECOLOR: 0.

Cyberface 12: PLAYERPKG: 4bcustm. ISCREATED: False. COLOR: 4. EYECOLOR: 0.

Cyberface 13: PLAYERPKG: 4ccustm. ISCREATED: False. COLOR: 4. EYECOLOR: 0.

Cyberface 14: PLAYERPKG: 5acustm. ISCREATED: False. COLOR: 5. EYECOLOR: 0.

Cyberface 15: PLAYERPKG: 5bcustm. ISCREATED: False. COLOR: 5. EYECOLOR: 0.

Cyberface 16: PLAYERPKG: 5ccustm. ISCREATED: False. COLOR: 5. EYECOLOR: 0.

Groovy baby, yeah.

Ok so if you click on cancel it exits setup. if you click on install there are 3 consequences that could happen:

1. if all goes well and it finds the player...then it goes through 3 quik steps...1. does a global search for the player you typed in ...2. edits the appropriate data for the cyberface you chose to install...3. copies the appropriate files for the cyberface you chose

But...

Image

2. If it can't find the player you tried to search for...then that part would come up...or...

Image

3. If there are 2 or more players with that name...you can only choose one so what we'd do
here is display some distinctive data like birthplace, number, drafted by and stuff...then
they can choose the player that's theirs.

When it's finished it might do something like this?

Ok! i hope that was understandable. :D If you have any questions then you MUST ask them...

Cheers,
Nick.

Well Nick, since you made such a beautiful post, I'd thought I'd make one as well. I already emailed you but I dont know where you are and I'm leaving Sunday until Tuesday. So i figured I'd post a preview here, just to show how "great" I am at reproducing artwork programs into real programs

Without further ado,

The program starts out with a happy message:

Goes on to the happy install screen, note the save slot thingamabob (I ran out of time to find a better way)

And then the nice list incase there is more than one:

Finally, a job while done!

Well, If i don't see ya soon I will see ya Tuesday night or later.
Hope this is what you are looking for! :P
NOTE: For aesthetic's sake I have recently erased the FCP from the title bar, so that only the top left icon is left, like in the first picture.. This way it doesnt say FCP FCP Installer.
