Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

The announcement:
Andrew wrote:Here it is, a new update (v1.05) for NBA Live 06. As always, you can find the update
here.
Key features of v1.05:
- 2005/2006 Rosters accurate as of 12/02/06
- Some Player ratings updated
- Primacy ratings adjusted for better shot distribution
- Player positions and data updated/corrected
- Bob Hill face by Kobe8Rice41 added
- East & West All-Stars Updated
- Rookie Challenge teams Updated
- Jerry West added to 60s All-Stars
The post-All-Star Weekend update will of course contain accurate lineups for the Eastern All-Stars (the replacement in the starting five for Jermaine O'Neal) as well as the starting five and depth charts for the Rookie and Sophomore teams. I'll also be trying to further fix the issues with Primacy in v1.06.
I was considering holding off on this one because I'm not entirely happy on some of the Primacy ratings and there have been some erratic results, but nothing too bad and I plan to have it resolved within the next update or two; it might mean some more labour though so don't be surprised if things aren't completely back on course until v1.07.
Other than that, the only other additional release note is a reminder that as of the release the replacement starter for Jermaine O'Neal hasn't been named (only that Arenas will be on the team in his stead) and we don't know the precise lineups for the Rookie/Sophomore game yet. Needless to say, the depth charts for those teams will be fixed up after All-Star Weekend.
You know what to do by now. Download it, play it, give feedback on it and hopefully enjoy it.

so...the update of version 1.05 is not out yet right?
cuz i think its weird as i see the next update is 1.05 and u have this thread where it says 1.05 release...
Mon Feb 13, 2006 9:11 pm
Uh...no...as it says up in the first post, v1.05 is released and ready for download. I simply haven't updated the next release date thread yet. I don't always get to these things immediately, especially if I have yet to check out the rest of the happenings throughout the forum.

Nice update. The only gripe I have with it is that the shoes aren't correct, so I can't stop using the correct shoepatch 6.1.
Anyhow...
Why aren't the contracts updated? I don't remember them all now, but someone like Amare has signed an extension, and even though it hasen't kicked in yet, it needs to be there somehow. Without it he might walk at the end of the season.
also the Kirk Snyder issue at the end of the 1.04-thread. Good point if you ask me.
A few Celticthings:
- Olowokandi is just too good in almost every attrib. The most glaring problem is his off and def rebounds which are atleast 15 points too high. The man reacts so slowly to rebounds that I almost want Blount back. And that's a horrible, horrible way to feel.
- Allen has lost alot of what made him stand out last year. His aggression and fearless drives are gone. I don't really know which stat that would accuratly reflect it though.
- Orien Greene should be PG/SG
- If Stojakovic has 88 in 3pts, why the hell does Wally have 79? I'd say up it to 82-83.
- Paul Pierce needs to be stronger and a better rebounder at both ends
- D.West should also have his 3pt-shooting upped a few points.
- Green should have his off and def awareness lowered to the low 30's or high 20's

ummmm, so where's version 1.05???
Mon Feb 13, 2006 10:46 pm
Ricky Davis' new number is 31, while in v1.05 it's still the old one, from the Celtics, 13.

What do you mean? I've just announced its release, complete with a link straight to the download.

The contracts were updated a couple of versions ago, perhaps I missed a couple of extensions though. If I've missed anything it's not due to laziness or in any way intentional, I assure you.

Ricky Davis' new number is 31, while in v1.05 it's still the old one, from the Celtics, 13.
Thanks, knew I'd missed at least one number after all the trades.

So Andrew,
If I understand it correctly, you will come up with another new roster update (around the 20th Feb. or so) including the All-Star line-up updated.. the contract extentions updates and the trades which take place between now and then?
Or are you gonna wait till the trade deadline with the the next update?
Mon Feb 13, 2006 11:25 pm
Any contract info that needs to be corrected will be done, though I went through in v1.01 or v1.02 and did that. Depending on whether I release another quick update with some more Primacy fixes (v1.05 should work fine but I'd like to do a bit more work there, didn't want to delay the release again) between now and the All-Star break, v1.06 will have updated rosters, All-Star lineups and anything else that needs fixing.
If I release a small 1.06 update before then with more work on the Primacy, then obviously v1.07 will be the update with all that stuff in it. I couldn't say any exact date at this time. I'll see how busy I am and take a look at what's going on in the NBA and what has to be done and make a decision.

The trade deadline is February 23 so my advise is to wait a few days before releasing another roster. Who knows, maybe there will be some great transactions the last days.
Btw, great roster.

Thanks for the roster, but I'm gonna be a Kevin Martin fan boy again. Sorry.
50 stamina is Ok i guess... I think it should be higher, considering hes playing 42+ minutes a game with bonzi out. 70 would be a bit better imho.
Hes shooting 50% from the field, more or less jumpshots... but his FG in NBA Live is 57. Pretty low. 65-70 would be best.
He is also 39-96 from 3pt land. 41%. And his 3pt is 35? 65-70 would be best. Good luck hitting a three with kevin martin at 35 rating. Even wide open.
Kevin martin ranks #13 in the NBA in Free-Throw Percentage(0.877) shooting 136-155. If you want to include the 36-55 from last season, his career FT shooting is still 82%. I think that deserves more than a horrible 65 FT rating. 85-87 would be more accurate imho.
His block should be upped from 9 to about 15 or 17.
Offensive rebound should be lowered from 30 to 25 or so. Maybe 27. Defense rebounding should be upped from 35 to 42 or so.
His passing should be upped from 22 to maybe 45 or so.
Offensive awareness from 54 to 60. Defensive awareness from 58 to 55.
Jump from 70 to somewhere between 75 and 82.
Dribble from 63 to 60.
DStrength from 39 to 49.
Shooting range from 20 to 25.
Inside scoring from 48 to 53.
Those are my suggestions for Kevin Martin.
Either way, thanks for the kick ass roster.

Fair enough suggestions with Martin. I'll look at his ratings again.
The trade deadline is February 23 so my advise is to wait a few days before releasing another roster. Who knows, maybe there will be some great transactions the last days.
Either way, they'll be a post-deadline update.

Thanks. Depending on Francisco's ratings (I don't know them off hand, but his dribble seemed a little low in the dynasty I'm doing), you might want to up the dribble and maybe the pass. The pass felt pretty good, but Francisco is playing backup PG behind bibby now, and he also played PG at louisville.

yeah when i cross over with garcia he loses it

that shouldn't happen unless he has a really good defender on him...
However, he does cross over pretty slow.

No problem, I'll look at Garcia as well.

Thanks for the new roster update Andrew, Great work
Tue Feb 14, 2006 6:15 pm
Hey Andrew nice rosters. keep up the great work.
Just a few minor sugestions:
Tony Parker is averaging just under 20ppg and .547 % FG maybe up his inside scoring and FG ratings by a bit.
Also his FT rating is 65 this year he is shooting .682% and career .694% maybe up that by a bit.
Other than that, keep up the great work.
