I've played through 2 seasons now, and have neither been offered a trade, nor been able to get one to be accepted. I play with the Celtics, and I'm trying to trade Pierce because Green is becoming quite the stud. I want to get him starting, but there's no way I can do that with Pierce and Ricky Davis around. Pierce is a FA after this season, and I don't want to resign him. Waste of cash when I have a suitable CHEAP replacement on the bench. I always try to trade for Firt Round picks. Nobody will bite. What am I missing here. I'm trying to trade Pierce for a #1 and a couple of expensive lower rated players. I had the same issue with Gary Payton the year before, and he had a low salary. It indicated Miami is really interested in him, but no way the trade goes through. If the team is over the cap, can they still trade? I think I'm actually doing excellent trades too. I tried trading Davis too, and he's even cheaper. Any thoughts?

Trading for draft picks is pretty hard, most of the time CPU teams won't bite. I don't think I've ever been offered a trade involving draft picks either, though simple player-for-player trades are offered more frequently when you're deep at a single position.

I've never been able to get a trade to go through when I try to get a draft pick so I think you can forget it - the CPU won't give them up. On the other hand, I've been able to make lots of trades that probably never happen in real life. Just make sure you match up salaries pretty well, especially when the other team is over the cap. I don't even try to get picks anymore after having countless trades declined.

Well I've been able to do some trading, and finally a draft pick. I've been able to get a decent squad. Starters being Nene, Pau Gasol, Gerald Green, Pierce, and Hinrich. The whole salary cap just sucks. I had to dump Al Jefferson because nobody would take Gasol's $13 mil + salary.

When I do get the computers to trade draft picks with me it was around the start for January/end of december, but the deals they take are not worth it usually.

You have to trade for draft picks at the beginning of the season when they aren't green.( stands for value)

thats not true, it always says something like "Sorry, we are not interested in trading draft picks at this point in the season"
even if u are the one giving up the pick (and they dont)

When trading away draft picks in the game, beware of the midseason save bug. Anyone else see this? Or is it just a bug with my game? After saving mid season, the draft picks you have that are somewhat desirable to other teams have lost all their value in the trade bar. Anyone else notice that?
