Lakers Calling

Wed Jan 25, 2006 7:00 am

I recently started a dynasty with the L.A. Lakers, but I'm doing pretty poor (4-5) I was trying to make some trades, but I got stuck. Maybe you guys can help? I'm looking for a good centre who can do the job right away. My current one is Bynum, who I really like, but he's still a rookie, and pretty inconsisant. So he would be my back-up. Mihm can go. :P . I'm also looking for an extra PG or SG (as Bryant can play PG too), I only got Fisher through a trade involving Medvedenko and George. An extra would be a replacer for Odom... I kinda suck with that guy. He's averaging around only 10 or less points a game. :|

Current team:

Bynum
Brown
Odom
Bryant
Fisher

Jones
Vujacic
Mihm
Grant
Walton
Cook
Profit

Any help appreciated. :)

I traded around and got desmond mason on my lakers, he won 6th man of the year.

Maybe you should go for Jamaal Magloire from the Bucks. He's incredible in blocking shots. His overall is 71 i think so it should not be tough to trade for him if you have a player which is needed by the bucks.

^^^ is right, or try to get NENE from Denver, he is pretty good player.

Thanks! Will try those guys out.

Magloire is still at New Orleans in my game by the way... I got it on PS2, so I think the rosters arent updated since october or so. Same goes for Mason, who's now at New Orleans instead of Milwaukee... :P Hope I can tempt them to trade one of those guys, they look real good. Any more suggestions? Maybe trades that already worked for anyone who played with Lakers before?

um... how did I get mason... crap. I don't remember. I think I did Kwame for Mason

What about these trades?

Jones, Vujacic, Profit <> Livingston (LA Clippers)

Brown, Cook <> Mason, Redd (Milwaukee)

I got them both accepted to my big surprise. :|

So now my team is:

Bynum
Odom
Mason
Bryant
Livingston

bench:
Fisher
Redd

etc.

I only wanted the last trade accepted, as Livingston wouldnt be needed with that one... now Redd has to sit on the bench. I made the Livingston offer before a big game vs. the Suns, and I won! Right after the game I got my offer accepted, so I had to save really... after that I went for Mason and Redd, as I got rid of Vujacic.

Opinions?

Starting Redd of the bench is not a good call, he's a great player. Maybe you should experiment with Mason, Bryant and Livingston and change their positions e.g. Bryant as PG and Redd as SG or Redd as SF instead of Mason.

Thanks for the tips! This team is a beast! I just beat the Knicks 124-102, and even Odom scored 30 points. Thats new. Anyway, Fisher assisted a season high of 13 assists. He went to a whole new level with the likes of Mason and Odom up front... Fisher even started on the bench... so I kind of regret the Livingston trade, who did average. :( Bryant on PG, Redd SG and Fisher as the 6th man would be ideal for now. Livingston on the bench would make me rotate too much, which I'm not a fan of. So maybe I'll trade Livingston away again for a good back-up Forward or back-up guard, so not one who's expecting to be in the first 5. Any tips? once again...

here are a few guys to look at ........

kyle korver- shooter
brent barry- shooter

al harington - good on the glass decent scorer
wally world- decent scorer

Kurt thomas - rebounder
Donyell Marshall - great shooter , good rebounder

what does your team need ?

Thu Jan 26, 2006 3:57 am

I need some decent back-ups now, as I gave away more players then I got in trades... by the way, would a Odom for Kwame Brown trade be good? :P I traded him to Milwaukee before for Redd and Mason, and they seem to be fully interested in Odom. I could use Livingston to get a back-up PF or SF.

edit - is Livingston good as a SF too? In that case problem solved!

Thu Jan 26, 2006 4:12 am

Hmm as Back up SF Bowen is kinda good. Great defense and can shoot shots from beyond the arc.

Thu Jan 26, 2006 4:19 am

I will look at Bowen later and see what the possibilities are. The Odom - Brown trade was accepted! So I think I'm having a pretty kick-arse team now.

Mihm
Brown
Mason
Redd
Bryant

Fisher
Livingston [trying him as an SF]
Grant
Walton
Wafer
Turiaf
Bynum

I'll settle with this for now. :)
