Fri Jan 20, 2006 2:54 pm

I was just wondering what does this button do and how do u use it.

Fri Jan 20, 2006 2:59 pm

is it the alley-oop button?

Fri Jan 20, 2006 3:02 pm

or shoot. you press ally hoop or shoot to take a charge

Fri Jan 20, 2006 3:08 pm

no, he means circle. you do it, and if they run into you hard enough its an offensive foul on them. I hardly use it.

Fri Jan 20, 2006 3:09 pm

circle is shoot dude.
and so si the ally hoop button

Fri Jan 20, 2006 3:21 pm

alley oop button is not circle it's like..L1 or something

Fri Jan 20, 2006 3:25 pm

its R2 on the ps2 controller

L1 is for a superstar move.
in previous lives L1 was the backdown, but since thats superstar, right analogy click is backdown.

alley hop is R2 and circle is charge down when you dont hav the ball. so its not worth worrying about then

I've found I draw more charges using the "hands up/raise arms" stance with Freestyle rather than the take charge button in the last few NBA Lives. It was abused way too easily back in NBA Live 2003...I remember holding Shaq to 6 points with that cheap trick. :)

Alley-oop is the same as take charge.

There are 2 take charge buttons

the take charge botton is about the only and best way to defend the paint, if youre smart youll get the hang of using it. its more reliable than trying to block shots, for me anyway. I draw a fair amount of charges.
What makes me mad is when i get there first and set up to take a charge and them my guy shuffles his feet with the contact and just gets pushed back and never falls over and i get dunked on.

how do you do that? i know its like up with the right analog on the ps2, but i thought that only just gets in the way of your opponent, but ive havent taken any charges using hands up stance.
