no the thing is i use these shooting guards, and do mid ranger jump shots, i get them in...not very good with pf
and i feel juwan howard's jumpshot's range is farther in real life than nba live
i don think i can make the mid range jumpshots higher since i can hit easily with shooting guards and etc? see i get better midrange jumpshots with Yao then Howard...

i had the same problem with McDyess....in real life he shoots 18fters all day, but in the game his range is what, 14ft?

the problem is actually the game itself. not only are the ratings inaccurate to the point where only all-stars can hit open mid-range shots, but the ai forces you to take three's or drive straight to the whole. after games, check out the shot chart. you can see the majority of shots taken from BOTH the human and cpu teams are in the paint or outside the perimeter.
sadly there isn't a clear solution, but the best you can do is:
1. tweak the FG percentage rating (maybe even lowering 3pt and inside scoring percentage too, even though it still won't help all that much concerning shot selection.) or maybe even individual FG, 3PT, and inside scoring ratings for players if you have time on your hands.
2. boost up on-ball defensive assist and on-ball physical defense for both teams (even though the defensive ai on the human side will still be bad).
3. change the shot-range ratings for players in some DBF editor.
