Primacy ratings corrupted

Tue Dec 27, 2005 5:23 am

Ok, I don't know if any of you guys are running into the same problem or noticed, but once in a while a high primacy rating player like Kobe or LeBron or Iverson suddenly gets a 5 primacy rating in the middle of the Dynasty and starts scoring 3-5 points per game because of this.

So I need to get into players.dbf and put it back to 90+ primacy. Does anyone has any ideea as of why is this happening? This is very very annoying because for 10 games they score like 30 points per game and suddenly they start scoring 5 points per game shooting 3-4 times per game because of the low primacy rating.

Any ideeas???

very strange, haven't noticed it yet since i almost never get past 1 season of playing :)

Me too, but it's really really getting annoying... and once in a while after looking at the box scores I have to exit the game and modify the database to correct the error.

It might be that this happens after a player gets injured and heals? Because I looked if LeBron was injured and he wasn't, but it may well have been some time ago and his primacy has been affected or what the heck?

I pretty much think it's a bug, though... (N) (N) (N)

injuries might be the cause, but normally it would restore itself a few games/weeks afterwards... have you tried waiting for that?

It is actually a bug in the game - or if not a bug, a really bad idea. Quite a few hidden attributes are recalculated automatically in NBA Live 06. As you can probably guess, it makes the rosters a whole heap of fun to maintain this year. ;)

So, are you saying that in order to "properly" play a Dynasty, I need to edit the rosters every now and then when something is wrong in the box scores?

PS. Very bad ideea in removing the primacy rating from the in-game ratings editor.

That's what I've found so far. Also, it doesnt only change for the player that got injured, its also for the other players on the team. When Kenyon Martin got injured in my game, carmelo's primacy went from 85 to 40 something. I have to exit after every 5 or so games and go and fix the primacy of players like Mike Sweetney having 99 primacy!!! :x

Absolutely ^^^

Dan Dickau has 94 primacy in Boston... scores 30 points per game

Oh, and one more thing... in the first year, we well know what the primacy ratings should be, like Kobe 99, Iverson 99 etc, but in the next years of the Dynasty when rookies come out... you can't really edit the primacy ratings because that way you will determine the future of the rookies... you will set who will score and who won't.

And because of this "bug", players start to average a maximum of 20 points per game in the next seasons... because they play in spurts... they have a 99 primacy rating scoring 35 points for 10 games, 5 primacy ratings scoring 5 points for 2 games... etc

You do the math.

Any ideeas or suggestions? I could disable the simulation injuries feature... but it will still happen during my team's games and I don't really want to disable injuries during gameplay.

This is very, very... brainstorming for a solution.

I've noticed that too. I put MJ to the bulls lineup. and made his primacy rating to 99. after 6-8 games he suddenly dropped scoring from 35ppg to 18ppg. i visit the dbf and found out his primacy fell to 61. i also checked hinrich's and its 58. what amazes me is that i also checked Deng's and its even higher than Jordan's its 86. why? is there anything we can do about that other than editing primacy ratings all the time.

Not really, unfortunately.

I just let them like they are... who the f**k wants to edit stats all the time. I mean, for future players, it will be YOU who establish how good a player will be (a rookie) if you edit his primacy ratings.

So there isn't pretty much anything you can do.
