CHANGING SHOOTING STYLES..

Thu Dec 01, 2005 6:53 pm

Is there a way to change shooting styles.. I notices Webber, Yao, Okur all take jumpshots, when really they should be shooting like rasheed, set shot, not jump in the air.. i wanna know if there is a way to change shooting styles.. maybe DBF editing.. thanks

i dont think you can changed it because its based on his ratings

yeah you can, and i just found a way to do it.. thanks.. i was able to change okur, webber, al harrington etc to not jump shot..

would be nice for other people on the forum to post your solution

after all, that is the purpose of a forum

yeah so post it already

thats pretty funny. this person comes in here asking for a solution then when he finds it he doesnt have the decency to share.

I can tell you. It has to do with the dribbling rating, and possibly the quickness rating. They must be above a certain level for the player to have the guard-type shot, otherwise they will have the big man-type shot.

its weird.. it worked for everyone when i lowered the dribbling below 50.. but with Garnett.. no matter what i try doing he still does jumpers.. any way to fix it..?

Wed Jan 04, 2006 4:26 pm

Ive checked every field in the DBF and compared it to Jermaine Oneal's fields.. all are similar.. i even lowered Kg's ratings all to 1.. and he was still doing jumpers!! So i donno.. i think its probably some viv thing mayber.. like their shooting style? what could it possibly be, because every other player, once i lowered the rating of dribble to 49.. they did big man shot..

damn.. no1 has a solution? :(

Could be the THREEPTSTYLE attribute. While it's used mainly for the Three Point Shootout (which is where most of the distinct styles show up) there's a couple of different forms that are used in 5 on 5 gameplay.

yeah but Jermaine oneal has that field set at 10.. and so does KG.. oneal shoots big man shot, KG jumpers..! I changed dwyane wade's dribble to 49 to test it and he still shoots jumpers too.. it might be a guard thing. I do have KG listed at PF though.. i know definitely its not ingame ratings.. its something with dbf or maybe viv even

May i ask but what's so weird bout Garnett, Sheed and Webb shooting jumpers??

Thu Jan 05, 2006 8:44 am

i just want them to shoot big mans shot.. not jumpers.. they dont get off the ground as much as kobe, iverson , etc.. theres more players who dont shoot jumpers, YAO, JONEAL, OKAFOR, BREZEC, etc.

Thu Jan 05, 2006 10:22 am

KG shoots like a normal player. Webber and Sheed i udnerstand... but KG shoots normally..

Thu Jan 05, 2006 10:30 am

probably because they got better jumping skills

its not because i lowered jumping to 1 and still jumpers..

Thu Jan 05, 2006 10:54 am

maybe its height/weight/dribbling/off aware/jumping all mixed into one big jumpshot :? then again, maybe its just set when they make the players...

Thu Jan 05, 2006 12:13 pm

what about the three point shooting style ? in the three point showdown in the all-star weekend. They all have deferent styles

Thu Jan 05, 2006 12:56 pm

:? I wrote that farther up the page. If dribbling is above 50, they shoot like a guard, if it's 49 and below, they shoot like a big-man.

Thu Jan 05, 2006 12:58 pm

I tried it out and Cable Guy is right.

Thu Jan 05, 2006 4:18 pm

cable guy is not right in Garnetts case.. i mean we all know that below 50 is big mans shot and above is jumper.. what im asking here is that in Garnetts case that doesnt work and i was looking for a solution..

Fri Jan 06, 2006 1:51 am

It may just be a bug in the game.

Fri Jan 06, 2006 2:22 pm

Maybe cause he's a superstar? I dunno really...but garnet does take jump shots except they are reallllly flat and always go in.

Fri Jan 06, 2006 2:37 pm

I'll try Garnett tomorrow and see if I can change it.
