To those having the pleasure of dealing with SnitchDevil, make your posting experience fun and less painful by remembering this emoticon, :wall: .
Just ignore the guy, like a village idiot that gets ignored by the townspeople.

on-topic:
losing Shaun Livingston to free agency

That, or constant injuries. The guy is brittle.
Maybe LAC should give Shaun the "Darko treatment" for just 1 year, bulking him up and making him stronger. Shaun's talent would go to waste because of his injury prone body.

Fri Dec 30, 2005 8:06 pm

I agree with you on Shaun policy. That guy needs a lot of protein shakes.

And I thought SnitchDevil has already been banned. Did I miss something? Is he not toolish enough or what? Did he not insult enough people?

Actually... about the Clippers-Lakers... I don't see any big rivalry either. If I was actually living there, maybe it would be different but I don't see any signs of a rivalry. Maybe because of how the Lakers have always been better than the Clippers. This season and from now on, maybe the Los Angeles derby will be worth watching!

Everyone criticises the Kwame/Caron deal, and so far its been shit for LA. But I wonder if LA regrets traded Caron instead of Lamar. Kobe needs someone who is hungry to score. Lamar tries to be what kobe is without the aggresiveness. I think with Caron the Lakers would be in much better shape right now, even if thats with Kwame.

And also, is Kwame on the verge of being the new Isiah Rider? So much talent, yet so useless.

Fri Dec 30, 2005 9:09 pm

Funny, Matthew mentioned Isiah Rider who also played for the Lakers.

Fri Dec 30, 2005 11:43 pm

Yawn. Ignores shadowgirl.

Anyway, what do you guys think about the recent fistfight between Kobe and Lamar? Peter Vecsey is having a field day in his article. (N)

That's a bad comparison. Rider had some good seasons where he put up good numbers.

Caron would have been a much better fit. He's a finisher, not a playmaker so his game is a much better fit alongside Kobe. For all the criticisms about Kobe's shot selection at times (which I believe are still valid), he does actually pass the ball, he does create opportunities for teammates. Perhaps there's not much point talking about it since what's done is done but while Odom has been able to play alongside Kobe with moderate success his effectiveness is limited because he needs the ball in his hands. Kobe is the superior offensive player so the offense is going to be run through him.

If Kobe is going to be the team's top scorer AND its main playmaker I think the second option needs to be a scorer rather than a Pippen type (and as good as Odom is, I use the comparison very loosely) with a third player sharing playmaking duties with Kobe. That, in my opinion, would be a more effective formula. But if the Lakers are set on Odom then they need to find a way of making that work to its full potential.

Andrew, Lamar is our main playmaker. Lamar is a better fit than the matador because of this. Also, lamar brings us a consistent rebounder. Caron, like lamar, cant hit a jumpshot to save his life. To sum it up, Caron Butler is a more aggresive lamar odom without the rebounding and playmaking.

Btw, Kobe is the main scorer and for the first time in his career(since his rookie days), Kobe is not tasked to be the playmaker for this team. Phil's letting Kobe play MJ's role in the triangle and that's at the wing and that explains career high's in shot attempts.

FUN FACT: Kobe used to rap. http://www.zippyvideos.com/4973305512936236/kobe_rap/

Mon Jan 02, 2006 9:20 pm

a little late, but MIKE MILLER FOR PRESIDENT (Y)

not only did he draw blood, but he didn't get a 2 game suspension either

Tue Jan 03, 2006 1:16 pm

Calm down Joe, you barely beat us and we didnt even have Kobe. Your team beat an NBA team with enough talent to win in the CBA.

Tue Jan 03, 2006 8:50 pm

i hope this isnt the start of another rapid decline in their season...hope they can turns things around starting in the place where they have the ugliest games ever. (Delta Center)

yeah man, it's hilarious.... he's actually on Brian McKnight's "Anytime" album on the song "Hold Me". you guys should check it out. Pretty sure this was in 1997, which would be in his rookie or 2nd season. Anyone remember the Sprite commercial with him and Duncan?
the name's Tim (Duncan), and he ain't frontin'. Drive the rock and he'll show you somethin'

Wed Jan 04, 2006 11:57 am

Im a big Kobe fan but damn kobe sucks at rapping.

Wed Jan 04, 2006 12:04 pm

The Lakers are like the 84-90 Bulls. All one player Kobe in this case.

Wed Jan 04, 2006 9:25 pm

and a Phil Jackson coached team has lost 5 straight since 1994

Thu Jan 05, 2006 4:36 am

The Lakers can't finish games. That's it. With or without Kobe these days.

Last game against Utah they played well enough to win, good defensive rotation through some stretches of the game, but just couldn't keep up the intensity in the last 5 minutes of the game. Forced passes and shots and were too impatient to make something happen. Lamar Odom can't be a leader, he's not vocal enough and he doesn't have the mentality Kobe has when it comes to the end of games. The Lakers defense seemed to just give up at the end of the game, they did not communicate and that led to a bunch of scores in the paint for Utah.

sounds like the knicks problems

Thu Jan 05, 2006 10:09 am

At this point I would be willing to trade Odom, and any other player except Kobe/Mihm for that crazy nut Artest.

You have that commercial? Can you up it for us?

And it can't be his rook season, it was probably 2001 or something cause I remember he tried to make an album but it never came out. And he met his wife on the set of the k.o.b.e. video, in 2001 or so, so its either a little before that or some time after that.

the song was ok. nothing special but at least he didnt make a fool out of himself.

btw, the hold me verse sounded amateur.

You'd be able to get a better deal for Odom if you're going to put him on the table. Talentwise Artest pwns Odom, but psychotic-wise, I don't want Artest anywhere near LA. I don't even wish that upon the Clippers. :shake:

Thu Jan 05, 2006 3:58 pm

Maize, i think it was back in his rookie season. No way he would do that shit in 2001.

So your telling me you wouldnt be the least bit happy if the Lakers get Artest and make a big run in the playoffs?
