Three pointers...

Fri May 16, 2003 8:18 pm

I don't know why but I never hit back 2 back three pointers, which is quite unrealistic. What is the problem?
Can anybody score that way?

It sucks when I hit a three and already know that the next shot will not go in...has anybody made more than 1 three pointer without a miss in between?

When I'm luchy, I score, I miss, I score, I miss..even with the best players....but no back 2 back three pointers. :-(

Doesn't happen here... Hit lots of consecutive 3 pointers...

Sat May 17, 2003 11:16 am

It happens but ..but dont expect it to happen often...THAT would be unrealistic.

It's definitely possible, given your second attempt is as good as the first (enough space, with a good three point shooter, release is perfect or near-perfect).

well one day i was playin the Celtics as the Magic, and i went 1-24 from the three line, open threes just werent goin in, and then the Celts finished with 16-23 threes... that is real unrealistic stat..

by the way i lost by 14

Yeah, some games you just can't buy one from downtown, though your opponents don't seem to have that problem too often.

ive hit 2 3s with the same player alot of time, its just getting ur space and most of all that the other team didnt score on the other end helps, also if ur not on a big run, coz then even dunks miss, and its a good idea to go with doff players,

if ur down and there is min left in the game u get most of them in,.

i think the most ive hit with one player without a miss was 6 with Allan Houston

I always hit back 2 back 3pts, do you play with your cpu assistant on or off, if it's on, and if you miss alot of 3pts in one game, next time you will make alot; if cpu assistant is off, you have to do it by yourself.

1) make sure you release at the right moment (highest point)
2) don't try shooting them with shaq :P

i once went 11 of 11 with the NBA's best shooter..........Ray Allen.

it was so kool ,he couldnt miss

Well, I forgot two important aspects.

1. I use DK's tweaks...Allan Houston has 81 or something and just shoots 25% in my franchise...same with Sprewell....I acquired a FA, Mike Penberthy, with 85 skill, one of the league's best shooters and he is 2-11 at the moment....I am not open all the time but the computer isn't either, he shoots with a defender next to him and still scores often.

2. I am nearly perfect concerning release, e.g. free throws...hitting 90% of them @ All Star. I don't want that my skill influences the shots so I use shotcontrol = cpu....so no release time for three pointers...maybe this plays a role as well.

run a pick and roll and use the pick to shoot a 3.. works very well when i'm using mike bibby or peja.. don't expect to shoot back to back 3's if someone has a hand in your face.. doesn't work too well.. i also find that shooting 3's in transition works for me.. you can also try doing a post-entry pass to your big man, wait for the double and kick it back out for a 3.. works like a charm. hope this helps

Yesterday I hit 6 3s in a row with Nick the Quick, but was 0-8 with Nowitzki!?

Wed May 28, 2003 7:24 am

Yes, that's how I go for three...guard to PF or C, back down or run around the paint so that the guard's defender comes for the double-team, pass to guard and for three...it is strange that a good 3-pt-shooter can't dribble around, shoot with no one in the face and score...but a guy with a rating of 70 scores after the pass in-pass back...no passing at all is bad for your chance to hit the three, a pass to the PF and his pass back to the 3-pf-shooter is enough to increase the chance of scoring 3 points tremendously...really strange.

I guess it's basically giving the shooter an opportunity to set, and get into the best position to make the open three. Or at least, I think of it that way.

The player i created for myself kicked butt- gave myself 94 rating for outside shooting
17 for 17 3's in first quarter (9 min. quarters) never had a game like that- I won 175-95 Lakers vs. Portland fantasy league with Dirk, Baron davis, Kobe, all good dunkers and outside shooters. wow
