I think the one I'm thinking of was against Memphis. He might've had 56 at the end of the 3rd or something. I don't think he's playing in the 4th though (N)

He's not. 5 minutes left.. bet the crowd is chanting 'Kobe, Kobe' to get him back in. But I guess Jax wants to let the young ones get soem experience. Cheers to Kobe for his best (or one of his at least) game as the leader of this team.

The games nearly over and Kobe didn't play the final quarter. Oh well... What really is dodgy is that the Lakers let Dallas win the last period by maybe 10 points. Terrible.

This was a good win for Kobe. For the team it was good... but Kobe isn't going to do it all all the time. LA really needs a second star. Kwame, Odom or somebody needs to step up a lot more.

EDIT: Kobe beat his career high 56 vs Memphis.. the one I believe Jae was mentioning.

EDIT2: By the way... I think this is a signal that Kobe is back... QUOTING NEWS ARTICLE: Bryant reached the 50-point plateau for the sixth time in his career, and the first since March 28, 2003, against Washington. - That means the first time hes had over 50 since the rape trial. Nice work.

Damn! I didn't know Kobe had scored that much since the game is played on the West coast ! Wow...is that a career high for Kobe? All I can say is that the Lakers that used to be under .500 and a laughingstock are actually starting to play better. If only Kobe Bryant scored 50 every night there would be no use for another superstar to complement him. This is a sign though , if the Lakers can beat premiere competition like Dallas 2 times in a row they might be one of the best West Coast teams again like the old Kobe - Shaq - Phil days. Unfortunately they still aren't as good as San Antonio.

not much is going to happen. They won't beat the Heat...nor will Kobe rip off more than 50 against the heat. I would be really really surprised if he did.

Prediction : Heat 110 - Lakers 93

What surprised me was the fact that Jax did give the option of going back in with 9 mins left to break whatsoever record but Kobe just wanted to sit
Everyone is hating Kobe and saying all he wanna do is to be compared with Jordan or even get pass. He had the chance but he just took care of his business

I found this over at LakersGround - The Lamar Odom song:

I was gonna average 20... but I got high.
I was gonna get that triple double... but then I got high.
I'm gonna get traded for Artest and I know why...
Why?
Cause I got high cause I got high cause I got high

.

I'd take that pothead over Artest though. We cant lose our best rebounder.

Well , the Lakers lost but they stayed close to the Heat all the way like last year. Me and someone else on xfire were debating the fact about Kobe being a clutch 3 point shooter. The other person argued the only clutch 3 kobe has hit was in game 1 of last year's NBA finals against detroit. I vaguely recall Kobe hitting several shots to tie the game or win the game (and him missing one) in the Lakers - Kings Western conference finals which was so long ago. Do you think Kobe is a clutch 3 point shooter , or not?

Well bryant leads the league in 4th quarter points, which doesn't actually say much but if you've seen some of the close games he's been in and some of the clutch plays hes made youd really understand why. I can't really remember the games, the ones that I can vaguely remember are where he stepped up against the Kings, the jumper in game 5 of the LA-Spurs conference finals (the one where fisher hit the game winner with 0.4 seconds left), the fade-away 3 to close the game against the wizards I think. I've seen many many many others but not too many lately (this season), a lot of them are from past years when the Lakers dynasty was still going strong. But yeah I think he's a clutch 3 point shooter, I just don't see it as much this season. its pretty debatable though

Kobe is not a clutch 3 point shooter. He is a clutch shooter, a clutch player but by no means a clutch 3 point shooter.

Kobe is a clutch shooter and that includes his threes. He might not have as many clutch shots as Jordan under his belt but he has many. I think every time we play Denver he seems to hit a shot at the end of the game to win (well the last couple of years anyway) and there have been so many more. How can you say he is not a clutch 3 point shooter? It in no way means he is a brilliant 3 point shooter, but he seems to hit them when it counts.

Just not when they're playing Heat .

I'd like to congratulate the Lakers for losing 2 straight to the Heat and Wizards. :D I was listening to a few minutes of the game and found out Lakers were up by 11 in the 2nd quarter so I naturally assumed it would be a Lakers blowout. Then I check nba.com a few minutes ago and find out the Lakers lose! This is pretty surprising. I guess the Lakers are falling back to mediocrity now. :)

What? 11 point lead in the second quarter and you assume blowout? Have you never watched an NBA game in your life? An 11 point lead can be erased in 3 minutes in the nba, much less 2 quarters.

I've seen multiple NBA games. I was just so pissed off that the Wizards were trailing by that much and I have a very short fuse so I just turned it off. Besides , I felt like listening to the Herb Sendek Radio Show. I must have forgotten about the rest of the game with the Pats - Jets game going on and all.

You have? Have you ever heard about the word defense? Do you know that it is needed in basketball? Do you know that your wizards suck because of the lack of it? Do you understand me? I come in peace.
