We'll see. Nice job by the Lakers winning although the Wizards TV crew insisted Etan Thomas was fouled in the final seconds. Although the Lakers are red hot right now they are still second-class to the Clippers. The Lakers don't want to talk about it either , I was watching SportsCenter this morning and several Lakers players refused to discuss the Clippers. Repeatedly Lamar Odom off-camera told Kobe Bryant "Don't answer that" when Kobe was asked about how the Clippers were better than the Lakers this year...hilarious.

The Lakers may be good right now but we'll see how good they truely are when they play other red hot teams , i.e. the Miami Heat or the Phoenix Suns. Good luck beating them.

Among the titles he passed out were Malcolm Gladwell's Blink (Kobe Bryant), Sun Tzu's The Art of War (Lamar Odom), Ernest Hemingway's The Old Man and the Sea (18-year-old rookie center Andrew Bynum) and Jackson's own Sacred Hoops" (Kwame Brown). However, not all players liked their gift. Lakers forward Devean George said he "chucked" his in the trash.

- I like that... it sounds real interesting... but can somebody tell me the significance of all the different books? Anyways... The Lakers are looking pretty good... above .500 right now and they got a lot of home games left. If they can gather some consistency at home, they should be a formidable team for the rest of the season!

Blink by Malcolm Gladwell, is about trusting the first two seconds of thought that enter one's mind. It's about making decisions, good and bad, and why some people are better at it than others. This book can really help Kobe get to that intuitive level.

The Art of War is a classic that centers on the concept of leading with wisdom and achieving success by understanding the nature of conflict. Jackson's rationale there is that Odom has yet to grasp fully that in the triangle or in battle, victory comes not from straight attacks but from capitalizing on opponent weakness...We all know the biggest problem with Odom is his aggresiveness.

Sacred Hoops is a book written by PJax about the principles of teamwork.

Chris Mihm received "A Bell for Adano," the story of an Italian-American major in World War II winning admiration from Italian townspeople by trying to replace a 700-year-old town bell that had been melted down for bullets by fascist leaders.

Jackson gave rookie Von Wafer "Poker For Dummies" in hopes that he can "recoup some of his losses" from the poker games on the team plane.

The Old man and the sea for Bynum = LOL this book takes about 30 minutes to read

come to think of it... kobe and kwame are a couple of prep to pro players and odom didn't complete college either... so this is how he teaches them discipline... cool!

Turiaf Cleared To Return

LA Times - Forward Ronny Turiaf, who underwent open-heart surgery five months ago, passed his physical and was cleared to play by team doctors Monday.

Turiaf, a second-round draft pick from Gonzaga, is still at least two weeks away from joining the team, a Laker spokesman said, and would have to improve his conditioning and learn the triangle offense before officially coming on board.

Money wouldn't be a problem — Turiaf would gladly accept the minimum NBA salary of $399,000, which would then be prorated for time played — but Coach Phil Jackson has the ultimate say on when and if Turiaf returns.

"Conditioning and skill level are to be determined now," Laker spokesman John Black said Monday. "Then it becomes a decision for Phil to make whether or not he'd be a benefit to the team on the roster."

The Lakers would have to reduce their roster via trade or by waiving a player, either Devin Green or Von Wafer. Turiaf, who turns 23 next month, can't practice with the team unless he is under contract.

HOly moley... I know that Kobe had 20 in the first quarter or when I checked... now 62... wtf. Anyways... I wonder if Phil is gonna keep playing him cause the Lakers are owning Dallas.

Actually you just reminded me, the last time Kobe did something like this he didn't play at all in the 4th. I reckon they should let him go on, he could end up with 80.

Against the Wizards when he had 40 something points in a half or watever... cant remeber exactly. They didn't play him in the fourth. But since this is at home and Kobe basically is winning by himself.. let him get 70 to beat MJ!
