No one is definitely staying in Lala land, not even Lamar Odom and Kobe Bryant.

Kobe's got a no trade clause. Unless he wants to leave, he's staying. LA management has no choice but keeping him. So yeah, you could remove him from that list.

Rashard would benefit a lot of teams, but from Seattle's point of view it doesn't make much sense. Seattle will either pay extra money & keep rashard or trade rashard to save money...Odom is going to be just as expensive as keeping rashard except he's far less deadly and you're taking a risk on how he'll play with a new system. So Seattle would both lose more money and lose the better player.

Boozer is interesting because everyone knows Utah is trying to move him, but does he benefit the Lakers? Don't they need scoring, not rebounding? And they're trying to develop Kwame & Bynum, and Cook ain't bad either.

Lakers need guys that can affect the game positively without needing to dominate the ball.

kobe goes 9/33 25pts 4reb 0assist
odom goes 12/25 27pts 16reb 3 assist

im curious why kobe rebounding and assist numbers are always so low. Is scoring and shooting the only thing he can do?

i'm looking @ T-Mac's stat line and its
7/16 25pts 9 reb 5assist

and i don't think tmac team is much better.Rockets won shit without him and Yao is like his sidekick like Odom is to Kobe.

Kobe is pissing me off. Bynum is showing off his potential, though. His athleticism is pretty darn good (I would say at leas Curry-like), enormous wingspan also helps and it looks like he really understands the game. He looks like a dominant shotblocker-in-training out there.

Bynum is the next Jerome James.
Cook's shot is too flat to be consistent.
Sasha... is Sasha. He thinks he's good, but in reality all he can do is shoot.
Mihm is too foul-prone to be halfway decent.
Odom is sick... a triple-double threat every night, but he can't co-exist with Kobe. He does have trouble finishing inside though.
Smush has been a pleasant surprise...
and Kobe's... well, Kobe. He continues to take horrible shots at the end of the games so he can be the hero like Jordan pumping his fist as he walks off the court.

It isn't like Kobe was just jacking up shots from everywhere the whole game. He had 7 points in the first half (demonstrating to me that he probably did not shoot the ball as much). His team was down 18. Then he starts shooting more and scores 39 in the second half. Only Brian Cook scored double digits besides Kobe.....it's all Kobe can do when the others are playing so badly.

Like I said, it's understandable considering how Odom and the rest of the team weren't doing much to help and it did get them back in the game, but that strategy isn't going to work too often. As it turned out, it didn't help them enough in the game against the Nets. Ultimately I don't believe the Lakers will be very successful with Kobe taking 30 shots per game, even if there are situations that justify or merit it.

I agree with what you are saying. I don't think Kobe taking 30 shots per game is going to be successful either. But with everyone else playing so badly I think it is probably going to be the most successful thing at the moment. With Kobe on the team, they will always be in the game and sometimes win the game by himself. That is all they really have unless the others start to stand up at least on the odd occassion.

I'd almost forgotten what winning felt like

Anyways, Kobe took 30 shots again.

Edit: Thanks to Yahoo for unfairly getting my hopes up.

Lakers just won against Utah where Kobe shot 11-of-31

but he created a contraversial play at the end of regulation to send it into OT!!!

then Vujacic provided the clutch shots after Kobe fouled out.

FINAL SCORE
Lakers 105
Jazz 101

When did Sasha get actual basketball skills? He's become a playa... Which is good.

Wow, how did you guys blow that lead? The Wolves were playing like crap then Huddy and Wally heated up. And in the 4th KG took over.

Good game, guys. :D

Oh man... I was following on Live Update... the Lakers were winning easily in the first half... how did they blow it... with only 7 minutes left.

Oh yeah... Why does Troy Hudson have to do so well against us? :|

What the hell? I mean, after all the bashing and missing the playoffs last year you would think this guy would learn how to play more team oriented game. If Odom took more shots, the Kobe lovers could simply point at his as another one who you could blame for the failure. I thought they could really be something, but no. They simply suck. Smush is a tweener who thinks too much of himself, Odom's motor is a piece of crap, Mihm is an incosistent stiff, Kwame has Kobe-like hands and can't do anything usefull - he's like poor man's Cliff Robinson without the shot and wonderfull D. The player I like the most on this team is Sasha Vujacic and not because he's Slovenian - simply because he's a hustle player who plays hard all the time. He'll develop in a decent role player. Bynum shows a lot potential too. A legit 7 footer who is already bigger than Shaq and his look-a-likes at this age. And he isn't getting any fatter - quite the opposite, he has slimmed down considerably since the SPL. He just turned 18 years and he is already their best shot blocker and probably not far behind in post skills and post D. After another offseason of intensive training he'll make a capable backup big. I just hope he has the work ethic for this kind of accomplishment.

Lol @ Vujacic playing hard all the time.

I think Smush has been one of the highlights of the season. The only one apart from Kobe who can play the triangle... not that it matters, since Kobe's just going to play his own style regardless.
