[SALT LAKE CITY, Dec. 26] – The 2 losses the Jazz had were their longest losing streak so far, and things were not looking good. They had to try and avoid losing 3 in a row tonight against the Grizzlies.

The first quarter went the Jazz’s way as they matched the Grizzlies point for point until the end of the first quarter, where Deron Williams and Gordon Giricek each made three point shots while Bobby Jackson’s attempt on the other side of the court was denied by Andrew Bogut, Bogut had a career night in blocking with a total of 8, he also scored 9 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

The last time these two teams faced each other, Eddie Jones was the starting shooting guard, but this time it was Mike Miller. Miller did a good job of penetrating into the lane, and got 20 points as a reward. Miller did however leave the game for a few minutes due to a momentary injury in his back after colliding with Bogut.

The guards today were the ones who really stood out, Gordon Giricek, Deron Williams, and 6th man Jeff McInnis, scoring 19, 23, and 20 respectively, with the majority of their points coming off screens and 3 pointers.

The only real impact player on the Grizzlies besides Miller was Gasol, who led all scores with 26 points and 12 rebounds. He was the one who kept Memphis in the game, but a key three by Kirilenko, the only one he made in the game, over him sealed the deal and pushed the lead ahead by 3 and forced the Grizzlies to foul. Unfortunately the Jazz made the majority of their free throws down the stretch, and the Grizzlies were not able to make enough shots to draw closer, giving the Jazz breathing room and the win.

Andrew Bogut: 1
Jarron Collins: 1 2 3
Pau Gasol: 1 2
Dahntay Jones: 1
Andrei Kirilenko: 1 2
Mike Miller: 1 2 3
Deron Williams: 1

[SALT LAKE CITY, Dec. 27] – For the 3rd game in a row, the Jazz held a lead in the 4th quarter, but either squandered it or almost did. Tonight the Houston Rockets rallied in the 4th quarter, and then struck Utah down in overtime.

The whole Rockets frontline was septacular, with center Yao Ming leading the way with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Stromile Swift scored 22 and grabbed 11 boards. Tracy McGrady led all scores with 26, and also racked up 6 boards and 7 assists. Shooting guard Jon Barry had a huge night with 24 points, including 4-4 from downtown. Mike James finished off the starting lineup with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. The bench players for Houston played well too; David Wesley led them with 10 points.

Utah led until the last minute of the 2nd quarter, with the Rockets down 2; Barry sank a 30 foot three points before the buzzer to give the Rockets a one-point lead going into the half. In the 2nd half, it was a climbing process for Houston. At one point down more than 10, managing to claw back and finally tied the game with 3 seconds left on a jump shot from James. In OT, the Jazz couldn’t get anything going, was outscored by 5, and lost be that margin, Yao Ming was septacular during OT, scoring 7 points and grabbed 3 rebounds and getting 4 blocks.

The Jazz’s Udonis Haslem also scored 26 points and grabbed 11 boards. Even though every player contributed, the loss of Jarron Collins and Charlie Villanueva, and the injured but playable Kirilenko really hurt them and forced them to exhausting minutes.

Yao Ming was given the nod of player of the game over Stromile Swift.

John Barry: 1
Stromile Swift: 1 2 3 4
Tracy McGrady: 1
Wang Zhizhi: 1
Yao Ming: 1

Once AK gets back to 100% he'll be alright, and losing Jason Collins is not too much, but Villanueva did lots of stuff, and six weeks is a while.

[SALT LAKE CITY, Dec. 31] – The Philadelphia 76ers came into Salt Lake City today hoping to ruin the Jazz’s new year’s eve celebrations, and came so close too if it weren’t for Andre Iguodala wild pass. With 2 seconds left Iguodala in-bounded the ball after a Kirilenko three to put the Jazz up 3, and instead of passing it to Allen Iverson 10 feet in front of him, Iguodala decided to throw the ball to Samuel Dalembert at half-court, however the ball was too high and sailed over even Dalembets reach, allowing the Jazz to gain possession again. The Jazz inbounded and Deron Williams threw full court shot to prevent the Sixers from fouling him, and the clock ran out with the Jazz on top.

The first quarter was an extremely high scoring one, with the Jazz managing 39 and holding the Sixers to “only” 27. However in the 2nd the Sixers came alive and scored 29 and held the Jazz to only 15; at the half Philadelphia led 56-54. The Sixers played even harder because the Jazz were a second half team, and managed to maintain their lead, and extend it to 5 points. But again the Jazz, led by Deron Williams, stormed back to take the lead; 6 out of the 9 available players for tonight’s game scored in double figures, with Williams leading the way at 26. Udonis Haslem had a huge game with 19 points and 17 rebounds.

The Sixers had their own share of big scorers, 3 out of their starting 5 scored more than 20 points. Dalembert had 13 points and rebounds, Chris Webber and Kyle Korver headed the Philadelphia scoring with 26 each, and Webber also grabbing 13 rebounds. Iguodala scored 20 while Iverson had a quiet 15 and 7 assists.

For the first time in as long people can remember, the Jazz did not lose the rebounding battle, both teams were tied with 44 each. The Jazz however destroyed the Sixers in term of assists, 33-20. Udonis Haslem was named the player of the game for his outstanding performance.

Samuel Dalembert: 1
Udonis Haslem: 1
Andre Iguodala: 1 2
Allen Iverson: 1 2
Andrei Kirilenko: 1
Kyle Korver: 1
Mehmet Okur: 1
Deron Williams: 1

DECEMBER RECAP

The month that was December... This month the Jazz finished 11-4, and their overall record became 25-5. They started the month off strong, but played tight games against the Lakes, Blazers, Timberwolves and the Hawks. Their first loss of the month can against the Sonics. They then ran off 5 straight wins, including an amazing one against the Detroit Pistons and the 2nd place Cleveland Cavs. They then dropped two in a row versus the Celtics and the Knicks before regained their footing again the Memphis Grizzlies. However everyone has proved that Utah is just human as they yet again lost a 4th quarter lead and fell to Houston in overtime. The Jazz managed to end the year of 2005 on a good note though, beating the Philadelphia 76ers in the final seconds.

This month was also plaged with injured, as captain Andrei Kirilenko was injured with a hyper-extended knee, though he still played. Two unplayed players were rookie foward Charlie Villanueva and center Jarron Collins. Villanueva was injured on December 14th against the Blazers and will be out 6 weeks while Collins was injured on the 26th against the Grizzlies and will be out 2 weeks. Kirilenko's injury happened on the 23rd during the loss against the Knicks.

Good luck to the Jazz and all of the NBA Organization in the year 2006!

[SALT LAKE CITY, Jan 1, 06] - The Utah fans got a suprise today during player introductions as the Jazz unveiled their brand new home and away jerseys. "This is like a late Christmas or New Years' present for the fans," said the Jazz owner.

The jerseys were designed by designer Kuttan from the shoe company K.S.S. and was based on the Jazz's previous jersey, but "with a fresh touch". The Jazz will still wear their previous jerseys as alternates, but these K.S.S. jerseys will be used as the primary home and away jerseys for the remainder of 2005-2006 season.

lol, and i totally believe you too. I would release them, but you would have to ask Kuttan as he made them at my request.
