ANNOYING ALLEY OOP

Isn't it freaking annoying when you are on the break, 3vs1 you throw a pass (with no intention whatsoever of trying an alley oop) and the CPU AUTOMATICALLY throws the alley oop and misses, causing you to waste that chance to score?
Is there any way to prevent this?

I don't know but it really sucks when you try to make a direct pass and it gets turned into an alley-oop layup. This year's gameplay is worse than last year's.
