Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

Ok, so I've got all the image files. Where do I have to put them, and is there anything else that I must do to the files or anything else to get them to show up in my game?
Sorry, got Live 06 today as my very first PC game. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hello and welcome to the forum
Is it just looks images of the shoe patch? If so, then just follow one of these tutorials:
http://www.nbaliveforums.com/ftopic23539.php
Or is it a big compilation of shoes like Seraph's shoe patch? Then I think you just got to copy the files to the /NBA LIVE 06/SGSM folder...

Man, even with this tut I'm struggling. I'm trying to do what exactly, turn the image files into a different file type?
I've gotten as far as opening my main shoe directory (sh001.fsh -> sh192.fsh) using BigGUI. So they're all listed there now. I'm trying to add solo shoe creations (.jpg images) that have been created not to replace other shoes already in the game but to be added to the database.
This tutorial then tells me to, from BigGUI, Export a shoe (e.g. sh001.fsh) to a folder (that I created 'fsh001' on my desktop). So I've done that.
Now I open FshX. File -> Open -> sh001.fsh
I now see an image of a sneaker. Actually, 2 images. One is titled 'bsho (128x128)' while the other is 'bshor (16x16). It's at this point where I'm not entirely sure what to do and/or how to get my desired downloaded add-on shoes into the game.
Any guidance?
Fri Nov 11, 2005 6:21 am
Ok, well let's take it step by step:
bsho is the one you want to replace, bshor is only the reflection on the court. So if you're in FshX and have marked bsho and it shows the shoe-image, click 'texture' - 'import' and select one of the image files that you downloaded... Got it so far?

Yes. Got it so far. I actually have my new shoe saved to my desktop (sho500.fsh). Time to open DBCommander. This is where I got lost with the tut. I followed the instructions, deleted the folder, etc. and when I went to the game, every player had bright pink feet instead of shoes.
Thanks for your continued help, again.

Sounds to me like you corrupted the shoes.viv folder. Are you using the first, second or third tutorial?
I recomend that you start with nr.1 just to get the feel of it, then try nr.2 which is quite advanced. Then when you can handle that one, try nr.3...

My game hasn't generated a new database/Origdb folder (as the tutorial said it would). Can I go about retrieving this in any way? I've run the game twice and it's still not re-generated, and I'm continuing to get the pink blank foot instead of shoes for the playofs.
I hope I didn't screw this thing up too badly...
Fri Nov 11, 2005 7:39 am
Ok, I managed to get my database/Origdb folder back (didn't empty my Recycle, thank God), but I'm still getting the pink feet. How can I recover the original shoes, if at all?
Fri Nov 11, 2005 7:39 am
Didn't you back up the files as I wrote in the tutorial? Either way, don't worry about it. All the original files are on your CD.
Put in CD2 and open up the file called 1compressed.zip with either WinZip or WinRAR. In there you will find both the database folder and the SGSM folder; so just replace anything that you changed and start over... Just next time, be sure to back up your files..
After you've gotten it back, try what I posted above, to first try the first tutorial, then the second, then the third.

That's what I plan on now (tut 1, then 2, then 3). Thanks a lot. Hopefully I can get these files back on without a problem.
Thanks so much for your help. Hopefully I'm able to manage through tut 1 when all is said and done.
Fri Nov 11, 2005 7:45 am
Sure thing.. If you run into any troubble getting the original files back let me know; as well as if you get any more problem with adding shoes...
Fri Nov 11, 2005 7:48 am
Phew, ok. God the original files back. Thanks again. I'm going to try tut 1. My problem was when I deleted the files, etc. on tut 2. Up until then I was going good.
For future reference, I should backup my entire database folder for tut 2, with my new shoesacc.fsh file in it, and replace the original database folder that I delete? Or am I reading that incorrectly? I just can't seem to get down the exact steps in that final part. Bah!
Fri Nov 11, 2005 7:51 am
I think that may have to do with my limited English knowledge (being from Sweden and all)...
Just back up any file that you edit; and if it says remove a file or a folder, just rename it to something else just in case you need to get it back.

Looking at this list:
http://www.nbaliveforums.com/ftopic18554.php
It has the T-Mac sneaks listed as 043 and 044. However, when I get those from bigGUI and put then in FhX, they show up as different sneaks. The ones located to the left of the Hurache 2K5s, generally.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Fri Nov 11, 2005 7:59 am
Also, I have all the way up to sh192.fsh instead of the sh173 your tut keeps referring to. Is this wrong? (Maybe it was packaged with the roster patch?)

FIXED !!!!!!! Sh... Shoe list & How to Add new Shoes - NBA Live 2005 Patching Issues
In NBA Live 06 the T-Mac's are 110 and 111.
And no, 192 is correct. My tutorial is for NBA Live 2005, but it works exactly the same for 06.
By the way, next time, just edit your last post instead of posting a new one directly afterwards..

No list for the 06 shoes ID so far, no.
No worries, I'm here to help...

For tut 1, I saved T-Mac black (sh112) to my desktop. Then I opened it in FshX, edited it, and saved it, overwriting my desktop file. Now, once I drag that file into my sgsm folder, it's complete?
Just want to make sure I've got this down pat before moving forwards.
Also, I once dated a girl from Sweden named Sophia. Real nice girl. Nearly made it out to Sweden, but things didn't work out. Was looking forward to it greatly, too.
Oh, and Homestar = the coolest.

That's the correct method, yea, so it should work as long as it's the correct number.
By the way, here's a little tip:
Before importing the shoe patch, click 'Texture' 'Double Resolution', and then import it. That way, the shoe will have more detail in the game (This works every time you use a shoe patch that is larger than 128x128px which is EA's default).

Sheesh. It worked on the T-Mac shoe (sh112), and then I do the identical thing on a Generic shoe (sh100), and all the shoes turn pink again. Sigh.
Fri Nov 11, 2005 8:26 am
But did you just place the sh100 in the SGSM folder? Then all shoes shouldn't turn pink; that they turn pink is a result of a currupted 'shoes.viv' file.
What you could do is, once you get the T-Mac shoe to work, just rename that file to sh100.fsh (or whichever number you want), and it will work.
Fri Nov 11, 2005 8:29 am
I did place the sh100 in the SGSM folder. Now that they're pink, can (and must) I retrieve the shoes.viv file from Disc 2, or is there something else I can do to fix it?
EDIT: I got the shoes.viv file from Disc 2 and the shoes are there again. I wonder why my file keeps becoming corrupted. I'll give it another go I guess, and make sure I'm following Tut 1 perfectly.
Are there any shoe patches that would either replace my shoes.viv file to include several more sneakers and/or replace my shoesacc.bdf file? Or is manually doing each pair through these tutorials the only way??
Fri Nov 11, 2005 8:35 am
Seems to me that you need to do that, yes, since it got corrupted somehow. So next time you copy it from the CD, make a back up of it immediately.
Or it could be the .dbf's that's messing up. Did you make sure that you replaced all the ones that you edited in the first place?
Fri Nov 11, 2005 8:44 am
Well, I just edited a pair without a problem. Hopefully it doesn't happen again. Heaven help me when I try adding shoes that aren't actually in the game...
