I couldn't find the answer to this anywhere else in the forum so I'm sorry if it has already been addressed. I miss way to many jump shots in this game, I play with CPU shot control on and would try to release at the right point but even players like Allen Houston miss too many mid range jump shots. So I would like to know how do I shoot with CPU shot control on? I realized in practice mode that if I hold the button the whole way the player automatically shoots and some of the shots go in. When I tried it in a game Houston was still missing way too much is this just coincidence?
please if you view this at least leave something, it's not cool when like 50 people view the post and not one person takes the time to leave a reply. Even if you reply
"shut up your an idiot" it's better than nothing as I try my best to reply to posts i can help with where no one else responds or knows an answer. (I just joined this site today so not too many by me yet)

yeah I heard that the CPU controls the shot and it depends on ratings whether or not it'll go in. The question I have is when do I release the shot for best results, because with it on if I just hold the shoot button the CPU will shoot for me. Even so I feel like I'm doing something wrong because I STILL miss too many jump shots.

CPU shot control works on a few factors. It weighs the players the players rating, the probability of the shot and whether a defender is in your face or not. So it doesn't matter whether you hold down the shoot button or not. Its not dependant on you.
If you control the shot yourself, you need to release the shoot button at the top of your jump. This may increase your shooting percentage if you have good timing. Of course, your percentage will go down if you try a ridiculous shot, such as a running jumper or with a player in your face.
Hope that helps.

Didn't you read my post?
If the CPU shot control is on, it doesn't matter when you release the shoot button. You can hold it for one second or 5 with the same result.

I´m sure that you miss too many jump shots because you shoot with the defender in your face, I play with CPU shot control on because my computer is very slow and I have problems releasing the shot properly. If you shoot in an open position the shot will go in, believe me...

Yes...what you need to do is take CPU shot control off and just release your jumpshots at the peak of the jump.

It doesn't matter when you release the button!!
But I'll tell you what does work...very rarely will a shot go down when you just shoot...pump fake first & then take the shot...works for me!!
