Wow I'm really feeling this game. What I noticed and liked is that you see the multiple balls available on the practice court right? And Dwyane Wade walks and his feet brush across balls that are on the floor, and they move too as a result of the collision. Unlike in previous NBA Lives where I guess the coding would just make him walk through the balls.
Why I say this is because, the current gen live 06(i.e PC version for example) still retains the scripted animation stuff. So you can't break out some of those animations until they are completed. For example my player misses a shot on a layup or post up move, immediately I press the jump/rebound button. He doesn't jump at all, he has to complete the animation of the momentum of moving forwards for example. Thus in this time span the CPU would have jumped and got the rebound. 3 possibilities. 1. the 'unbreakable' animation. 2. My PC's too slow to respond to the button press. 3. I have a slow reaction.
So I hope that xbox 360's Live 06 will retain that interactivity with the environment. What's always been possible with technology 5-6 years ago, is what was shown in NBA Inside Drive 2000. For example a ball goes into the rim, but if I press the jump button, and I am standing under the net, I can push the ball while it's in its motion through the net, and it can be tapped out of the rim. The only break in animation I can think of in current live 06's are that you can pass off a shot.
I'm looking for freedom of movement in the game. Possibly a player leaping to save a loose ball going out of bounds ala Dennis Rodman, crashing into the crowd/cameramen. And I can control my player to run up to the stands to confront the guy who threw the cup of beer at me. Wait, they wouldn't allow that in the game
