I don't think you can. It's an integral part to the dynasty set up, without it you wouldn't be able to play the game properly. In saying that a lot of the time it is a pain in the arse.

I wonder if anyone is going to make a pda patches this year? They one's from 2005 were cool, provided a further sense of realism.

what pisses me off with the PDA is that they gave you the option of taking out the weekly power rankings, and replaced that annoying piece of shit with fucking Coaching News. i mean, who the fuck gives a shit that some unkown coach has been working with some unknown generated player on their fucking stealing?

You change/turn off the ringtone by clicking the 'Settings' icon on your PDA, and then configuring them from there.

Yea, the Coaching/NBA News is more or less useless. Helps if you turn of the sound for it though...
