What do you think of Kerr as host ?

Mon Oct 17, 2005 11:12 am

What has EA done? I mean Kerr was a adiquate player but is misarable host. As we know the commentary is a problem since beginning but this guy is just anoying. "He puts in the easy...............two" - what the fuck. If you do it that what better leave it or like Kerr would say: "they dodged the bullet there"

Yea I personally dont like the idea of him being a commentator, bring Kenny Smith or Charles Barkley in is what I say, alongside Marv Albert of course

Mon Oct 17, 2005 1:38 pm

I'm guessing you are being very sarcastic right now :)

Mon Oct 17, 2005 1:45 pm

I THINK Kerr is a GOOD Commentator. (Y)

(not sacastic)

Mon Oct 17, 2005 2:47 pm

I meant rikson when he said "a lot of opinions here..."

Mon Oct 17, 2005 2:47 pm

he's better than the to wankers that host the dunk comp...man thay give me the shit's

Mon Oct 17, 2005 3:50 pm

At the end of the day it doesnt really matter

Mon Oct 17, 2005 4:09 pm

compared to the dunk competition..i think kerr is a lil bit better.kenny smith will say the same thing over and over again..THATS THE BEST DUNK I'VE EVER SEEN...20 seconds later ....THATS THE BEST DUNK I'VE EVER SEEN...20 seconds later THATS blah blah blah..

Mon Oct 17, 2005 4:26 pm

i reckon it was a good decision by ea to get steve kerr in..i mean we've had kenny smith for a few years now right??? so its good to have a change...does any1 think that marv albert should get replaced??????

Mon Oct 17, 2005 4:29 pm

I'm fine with him being a commentator but he's so repetitive in the game. EA should've recorded more stuff with him

Mon Oct 17, 2005 5:44 pm

I guess it's hard to record different things and stuff... is it?

Mon Oct 17, 2005 6:06 pm

I made myself in the game and I'm a 1.92 (6'4)SG-SF and I'm an Inside scorer and everytime I do a hookshok kerr says the bigman can take you inside and can take you outside. I think he needs glasses because I'm one of the smallest guys out there :x

Seeing as though Mike Fratello left TNT to coach again and Steve Kerr does do games on TNT alongside Marv Albert, the decision is obvious. I actually like some of the pauses in the commentary track because it feels more like two people commentating on the action live rather than reading lines, though it doesn't always work out.

The commentary does suffer the same problems that nearly all video game commentary tracks do - eventually repetitive and occasionally a phrase inappropriate to the situation gets pulled out.

I wish certain people would just shut up. They never have anything meaningful to say.

Steve is a realistic choice because he's the one who normally does the commentating with Marv Albert.

If you don't like it, turn the commentators off, turn down everything else a few notches and you will have yourslef some realistic NBA game sounds. (Y)

They do like 3 or 4 dialogues and it depends on some players that you pick in the game.
The pausing in Kerrs sounds aren't deliberate. He just talks like that with weird little pauses.......everytime he says something he says SO,..........that is what makes it more realistic in the beginning, but after a while he doesn't really say anything new. I personally liked mike fratello.....i like him in real life too and he and marv were doing games since 92 and before that. I love the checmistry between them. it sounds better to me, but i guess kerr sounds good enough. Unless the wanna bring in my other main commentator Hubie Brown. But Hubie works for ABC, so they have to get rid of Marv too.

I didn`t know that.

But the commentary is alittle conservative - I would laike to hear things like "from downtown" or "baaammm" if I make a shot. I live in Europe so its hard to see NBA for me, but I was able to download some games. One of theese is a TSN braodcast (CLE @ TOR - James 56 Pts.), I am sure you know it, and their Comentary is great. Unfortunatly I dont`t know their names :( - but I suggest to take theese two guys.

lol, when i was trying some dunk combination, and i failed,he will say :is he stupid some sort like this

if i make the basic old dunk,he will sing B.A.S.I.C , B.A.S.I.C, B.A.S.I.C ya B.A.S.I.C
lol, he is plain stupid,hahah

The commentators are one of the few thing a like this year.

What EA should change is the arena announcer, who has been the same from 1997....how boring...bring in some new guys who may sound less professional but more exciting :?

Wed Oct 19, 2005 5:37 am

I think he is a great commentator, better mike fratello
muhahaha
