Hi this is my first post here and It`s mainly because of Nba live 06`.

I find my self in insomnia, wakeing in the middle of the night screaming Dean Richards name in rage. It`s not really that serious. I`ve been a fan of Nba live since 95` and I like to say that I played my little hart out every year with some exeptions in the series( mainly 01`,03`) but I have never so quickly deleted Nba live of my har... what am I talking about I have naver deleted any Ea sports game of my hard drive so quickly.

It`s pretty clear that Nba live 06` was a side project from the begining.
This year nba 06` xbox was Ea`s baby and reason for the early release of Nba live 06` was mainly for that reason.And I have a feeling they are going to mess xbox 360 version to, from what I`ve seen it`s just Nba live 04` with better graphics engine and a terrible gameplay. I know that there are a lot for sim b-ballers around here and It`s time that Ea stops that sim talk. Why doesn`t Ea give a tiltle like "Nba live jam 06`" or "Nba dunking-mania 06` and stop to rip of us sim-loving-ballers. In this game the tactical aspect of the game is non-existant, the rebounding is one big headache, the countless dunking, alley-oops( which we usally had to earn) and bugs are evidance of the lack of effort Ea put in. There arent enough disc space for patches that could fix this game. Ea had a good run Nba live 2000 was a marble of its time and 04` and 05` just pushed the envelope and 06` was a potencially one of the greats but we couldn`t be farther from the truth.

It˙s time that Ea gets it`s head together for the second time around and focus on the sim-side of basketball. Its seems we are gone be blaying a lot of NBA 2k6 this year my friends...

For me..the only problem with this year's game is the offense rebounding. the overpowered dunk superstars can be toned down with sliders....where as..offensive rebounding cant be toned down no matter what.

We can talk about sliders all day, but the bottom line is - is it our job to make a game they promised? A part of an interview with the production team of Nba live said: q: " Will it still be possible to stop players that have offensive Superstar™ moves, as well as elude defensive superstars?
PT:"The game is balanced in the sense that no one player is unstoppable..." And the list goes on. Its not that we can`t play with sliders, but we have to put a lot of sliders to their max/min to make the gameplay tollerable. I think sliders are for changeing the style of your game not that you have to change the entire gameplay in a sence to make it playable.
Look at nba 05`, when they finnaly fix most of the problems in the series they go do something like this. That`s the thing that boggles my mind.

sliders tend to reduce the frequency of those problems so its aite...but the notion of a superstar IMO was implemented nice, i mean come on, I cant stop Amare when hes 5 feet away from the rim, in real life its possible, a superstar will kill u no matter wat,its just annoying dat u couldnt stop dem as much as u wanted to,... however Ray does shoot over ppl,Kobe will drop at least 30points,Tmac will kill ur team, Peja will hit his 3's, VC aint getting blocked on a dunk if he goes up in traffic....i just hate wen i play the suns, they give me the most problem ..the best way to stop a superstar is to keep infront of them at all times(all but the Power players), i just hack those powerplayers, nothing better than a freethrow rather than an easy 2 points....freestyle effectiveness set at 40,EA should make us the users be able to shut dem down more next year,cuz superstars even have off nites

Same here. That and the silly bugs (subs after 2nd free throw, deflections as TO's.)

All I really want is better control (I press a button -THE GAME RESPONDS BY DOING THE ACTION WITH NO DELAY!!), updated rosters, create-a-team, a physics engine, incorporated ragdoll physics with collision animations, NBA development League, 2 on 2, 3 on 3, training drills, HDR, moving jerseys, custom camera controls, support for in-game console, high definition textures/models, better normal mapping(ever played Chronicles of the Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay? )3 referees, custom fans, improved commentary system(not just play-by-play ), reduce skating, improve basket driving AI(just pushes through you most of the time), fix jump angles for def rebounding, release an SDK/editor, and have a mo-cap system come with the game so we can make our own animations

I'm off to play BF2, EA released the THIRD patch for it on 10/4

Anyone know when the EA patch comes out? It might fix some of these things. Hopefully. Maybe. Doubtfully.

I just don't understand why EA seems to move toward more arcade style everytime it has a chance to move more toward simulation

good for me i was able to play live 06 on my friends pc first befor buying.. the graphics is just a little improvement from 05,heck i find the shiny players a little weird..players all sweaty at tipoff?seems the players were busy doing a little "playing" of their own before the real game huh? haha. but anyway.. good as 06 may be( or bad as some comment) personally, there isnt musch new features in 06 for me to scrap my 05 franchise and rebuild a new one i 06.. and yeah, players movements look awkward compared to 05..

Actually, despite all the problems that 06 has, I think it's an improvement over 2005. Ironically though, I stopped playing it after 2 weeks. That's the probably the shortest I've ever played NBA Live since the days in 95. Either the game is too freaking easy, or I'm getting too old for games

That might change when Civ IV comes out though.

finally something that makes sence

i LOVED playing nba 2005 - i would sit for hours on end playing it. with 06, there is just no challenge. superstar is too easy, and on rookie it isnt like in 2005 where at least i could win 100-10 in 2min quarters.

06 is boring to play - but ive been simming seasons with a dynasty and really working the team - and its been great fun.
