Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

1. you can outsmart the computer AI
ok this is VERY unethical, but all you have to do is sign a buncha players, and you can just trade 3 people for lets say a X star. Than you can sign more players and trade them along with X star to get someone else better, and you can just do this until you get a all star team.
My lineup using the cavs is now
igaskus (im sorry, cant spell his name)
amare stoudemire
Dirk Nowitzki
LeBron James
Ben Gordon
how is it you guys put realism into this? do you just not trade?
Sun Oct 16, 2005 12:51 pm
Dude, that line up isnt that great, check out my dynasty and youll see a great lineup. This one is just ok.
Sun Oct 16, 2005 12:58 pm
That wasnt my point at all.
Im saying its taking the realism from the game.
I really doubt Dallas would ever trade nowitzki for larry hughes in real life.
by EA making it so... easy, i could go and make any lineup i want
Sun Oct 16, 2005 12:59 pm
And read before you find out what your talking about. You made a FANTASY team, i did a real life roster
Sun Oct 16, 2005 1:09 pm
having an all star line-up like that is sort of stupid..because it takes the fun out of playing the game...
my current lineup
c.frye
m.williams
r.lewis(yes i traded richard jefferson for him)
vince carter
j.kidd..
not that dominating..not that many all stars...makes it fun!..

ok
that didnt answer my question AT ALL
that is exactly the reason i made this topic.

If you find it unrealistic then don't do it.

It's not that hard to make realistic trades.

Didn't we have this discussion last year? Besides, in this game, since we have dbf editing, it's all actually fairly easy. If you don't like that you can do it, then just don't. Period.
I mean, you did it, then now you complain? it's not as if the computer AI is doing it to you anyway.
my two cents.

The trading AI has always always always been retarded. I think this year might be a TAD bit better...but still sucks. Sometimes I use Total Pro Basketball for all trades and stuff (to make trades realistic.) and then do all the corresponding transactions in NBA Live(manually of course...of course some way to do that automatically would be cool.)

You're complaining that you exploit the system? Smoooooth.

I appreciate you guys that can read...
That was my question
I was in no way complaining, Im wondering how you guys get around this, such as not trading at all.
Jeez... you guys are stupid

EA wont change that until there is a decen Bball manager on the market - right now they are the only one with a dynasty feature thats why they change hardly anything each year to sell it for 50 € .... shame on EA!!!

Ok, your lack of intelligence is irritating me & the fact that you've posted that no one has answered your question & that everyone here is stupid is even more irritating so let's waste 30 seconds of my life to make you see the big frigging picture so that you'll just shut the fuck up & quit being such a prissy son of a bitch.
how is it you guys put realism into this?
By not trying to sign three average players & trading them for a superstar. What's the point? Do you see Shaq, Duncan, Garnett, Bryant & Nash on one team in the NBA? No, why? Because of various reasons. A) Salary. B) Friction.
NBA Live doesn't have the "getting a long" feature, so just go to the bathroom & shit out your common sense, given it seems it somehow got up your ass.
Use your common sense and figure that all the stars you're trading for might not get a long together. Just add your own story line. Besides, how fun is it to play with so many stars, make it so easy to score & then win a championship? It's about the struggle, it's about one (to two) stars & a bunch of complimentary players. Then only will you receive the full satisfaction of playing the games in NBA Live.
Any dipshit can just put together the All Star team & win, but do you get satisfaction of it? Not really. Try winning it with one Superstar, try developing your young ones, then & only then will you achieve true bliss.
Fucker.
Now stop being so impolite given I answered your question.

We answered your question already, if you want to stop making such lopsided trades then just don't do them at all and make realistic trades. It's not that hard.
And you say
we are stupid and can't read.
Mon Oct 17, 2005 10:55 am
I didnt read any of the posts except the first
But dude, if you dont want that to happen why did you do it in the first place? lol
Sure its easy to get all these guys like you said but by not doing it is the best solution

By reading the replies in this post we can understand why EA just would not market a decent NBA Manager Game....
In Football World, we have the bestselling ChamptionShip Manager and Football Manager Series for mature players who just can act like a real Manger by virtue of the fantastic Player Database and realistic Trading engine. The Game is there becasue the demand for the Game is there.
In Baseketball World, look at those posts....the market is just not there....

There's a simple way to fix this problem that I've been proposing for the last few years.
The reason you can't trade for every superstar in the game is because there are only certain players that teams are willing to trade.
You add a "trading block" feature, where you can see what teams actually are willing to give up. Bad teams can have all their players available...the best teams in the league can have no one. And usually the only way to get a star would be from an aging or awful team.
You could also see who's willing to give up their draft picks this way.
This, along with the layup rating, are the two most needed additions to Live right now.
