How do you know that you've installed the official patch?

Sun Apr 20, 2003 1:23 am

I've downloaded (at least I think I have) the official game patch for NBA Live 2003. I don't see any difference though. I still get shitty framerates as always. When I click "Download Patch" in their website, it gives me the two thumbs up sign. Then I look at my Desktop and I find a folder called "easo" located there. So I open up C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NBA Live 2003 and stick "easo" in there so it replaces the other one. I have no idea if that is what I'm suppose to do. So is there any way I can find out if the patch is installed correctly in my game?

Note: Why can't EA just stick with .exe's for once? They made everything worse by using ActiveX plugins. They say that it will be easier to install patches with ActiveX yet more than half the people who purchased this game can't get the patch to work.

Were you getting low framerates due to a USB device in Windows 98?

Yeah but I use ME though.

I can't remember with the patch documentation said anything about ME...I know firsthand that it fixes problems with USB devices under Windows 98. It's possible the patch did not address the specific problem on your machine.

Yeah, it seems the patch works for some, but not for others. :? Wish I could explain it.
