What are pc specs?

Fri Oct 07, 2005 6:03 pm

the specifications of your PC.:
cpu type/speed
amount of ram
graphic card

if you dont know that, you can use the EasyInfo program that comes with the game.

I have the same problem I think...

I try to run the game, I get the logo for Live 06, but it doesn't enter the game, it just sits there, it seems to be trying to access the CD I think...

Anyway my specs are...

Thanks in advance for any help!

CD2 has to be in. Can you try another cd/dvd drive? or try running through autorun.

Sat Oct 08, 2005 5:47 pm

CD2 is in, tried from the drive I installed the game from and it just freezes with that logo.

Tried my other CD drive and it says "Please eject and re-insert the CD-ROM, select OK and restart application".

try running it with all norton crap disabled, and msn + icq off.
do you hear the cd-drive spinning up? or doesn't it read at all?

Hey, i've got almost the same problem except after splash screen is closing i get an error notification (like: "There was a problem with nbalive06.exe .... Do you want to send this report to..... bla, bla, bla). I believe that has something to do with installed/running appz like symantec security software (SystemWorks, Internet Security). Beside that, I didn't really see anybody having error notifications after closed splash screen so this may look like another kind of problem, however - my game crashes to desktop after splash screen too :) Any ideas? Or at least are there any people having similar prob?

My specs:
Barton 3000
Abit KW7 motherboard
512 MB RAM
Radeon 9550

...and one more thing: i've noticed that only ati-cards users are facing problems with starting/running nba live 06. Does any geforce users have any problems?

I have GF4 somewhere in my shoeboxes :) I'll install it and try to run this game again tonight then we'll see if this bloody radeon is the cause....

Mon Oct 10, 2005 10:39 pm

1. use the edit button instead of posting twice.

2. have you tried reinstalling the game? if the exe crashes its mostly a conflict with existing software. if you know how to, formatting the PC seems like a good idea.

3. You're right about the Ati cards, although it only seems to happen with older cards so far.

Mon Oct 10, 2005 10:58 pm

Yep, i've made reinstallation - still crashes....
The system is newly installed and rather "clean" I would say...
My hipothesis is that there's some conflict between ati drivers and some other application....
Like I said: I'm going to try it on GF4 with some newest detonators and if the game will work - it'll be all clear :)

Update: I did it.. STILL CRASHES!! Even on nvidia card! Out of ideas at the moment...

both of you have previous generation ati cards. have you tried using the latest drivers for it?

also, you could try out omega drivers from www.omegadrivers.net
they fixed some problems in 2005.

I've changed the video card to a new one now....I got the Nvidia Gigabyte umm 6600 video card, if you require me to do another 'Easy Info' then I will......the only thing I have not put on is SP2 for Windows XP Pro...but surely SP1 should work fine with it right? SURELY!
