 And here comes Andrew ready to kill someone.

I like andrew´s sliders but no so much. IT focus on making the game hard instead of more realistic. I think is arcadish.

There should be different versions for the slider.... Dunk/lay up ratings should always be in the lay ups side....

Alright this is whats up. I play 8 minute quarters against the computer and five minute quarters against my boys, both on the superstar level. I need sliders to fit both time limits, as close to real life gameplay as possible. Does anyone know of any sliders that can help me out, or is anyone willing to create some. Hit me up (Y) :!: :!:

These are my sliders.......i play 8 minute quarters and i find that these are the best sliders till now i adjust things to my liking if i find that there is something wrong with thegamepay...........I still have too many offensive rebounds and the cpu has even more........and too many out of bounds of the adjusted shots behind the backboard. Depending on your style of play and substitutions you should get 90 to 100 points per game with a average to good team with realistic stats.

Try it out and let me know, bacause i haven't played much lately. So i might get better and change some things.

The ANdrew from nba live 2005 isn't all good for Live 06 in my opinion. Especially in the fatigue and offensive rebounds department.

my sliders for now........superstar / 8 minute quarters

Game Speed: 40
Free Throw Difficulty: 50 - 70 depending on your own skillz.
Boundary Force Field: 90
Injury Frequency: 50
Fatigue Effect: 38 - 42.....not too high because the game won't be as realistic...example kobe can't make shots after 6 minutes of play.
Charge/Block Foul Frequency: 80 .....there are too many easy charges in this years game in online play it is pretty easy to take charges , so for online i guess it would be 90.>>>Update
Shooting Foul Frequency: 10
Reach-in Foul Frequency: 10
In-air Collision Foul Frequency: 50

USER:

User Steal Ability: 30
User Interception Ability: 35
User Shot Block Ability: 100 >>>>i have seen just a couple of blocks on jumpers in my games played. I looked at the instant replay and I blocked the ball a couple of times and the ball went through my centers hand.
User Dunk/Lay-up Block Ability: 70
User Freestyle Effectiveness: 40
User Dunk vs. Lay-up Frequency: 30.....i think the lower this is, means less dunks. there are too many easy dunks this year.
User Substitution Frequency: 0.......i do my own damn subbing.
User On-ball Defense Assist: 60 >>>Update
User Offensive Rebounding: 0
User Defensive Rebounding: 100
User Fakeout Discipline: 100
User Short Range Shooting: 50
User Medium Range Shooting: 45
User Long Range Shooting: 40-42
User Dunk Percentage: 50
User Lay-up Percentage: 50
User Adjusted Shot Percentage: 20-25
User On-ball Defense: 50
User Poor Release Shot Percent: 40 >>>Update
User Double-team Effectiveness: 50
User Pro Hop Effectiveness: 0
User Drop Step Effectiveness: 0

CPU:

CPU Steal Ability: 35
CPU Interception Ability: 20
CPU Shot Block Ability: 90
CPU Dunk/Lay-up Block Ability: 65
CPU Freestyle Effectiveness: 40
CPU Dunk Frequency: 30
CPU Substitution Frequency: 50
CPU Offensive Rebounding: 0
CPU Defensive Rebounding: 100
CPU Fakeout Discipline: 50
CPU Short Range Shooting: 50
CPU Medium Range Shooting: 50
CPU Long Range Shooting: 45
CPU Dunk Percentage: 50
CPU Lay-up Percentage: 50
CPU Adjusted Shot Percentage: 20
CPU Adjusted Shot Frequency: 50
CPU On-ball Physical Defense: 33
CPU Poor Release Shot Percent: 50
CPU Double-team Effectiveness: 50
CPU Pro Hop Effectiveness: 70
CPU Drop Step Effectiveness: 70

if the CPU and USER off rebs rebounds are still too high, i am gonna think about lowering every players off. rebs and upping every players def. rebs. It will take a while, but at least the game will be better.
the problem will be dynasty mode where new players come in that have higher off rebs.

*UPDATE*

Okay i just finished a game with these sliders as Golden State and it was pretty good. The offensive rebounds were bad again, but more on my team. I had 22 offensive rebounds. makes no sense, but hey shit happens...and i still lost, though.
I took it easy and didn't do a whole lot of freestyle unless on the break. I subbed pretty often also.
here are the screenshots of the stats.

*UPDATE*

i played another game under a couple of changes in the sliders

I changed the Game speed to 40 / USER dunk-lay up Blocking to 70 / CPU dunk-lay up Blocking to 65

These made the game more fun to play. I had more blocks and so did the CPU.......this takes a little away from the fact that the CPU gets blocked once and then just picks it up and dunks it again. My offensive rebounds were still pretty high at 22 of 42 tot Rebounds.

it has to be Off. Rebs. 0 and Def. Rebs. 100 both user and CPU.

Hey, Shaft, Your sliders are great but I've got one problem. I don't know, WHY CPU made almost ALL LAY-UPS (NOT CLOSE SHOTS, BUT LAYUPS!)! I played three games and every team put a lot of layups (I don't remember when they missed one...). Maybe You also had this problem? Try look at it. I'm not bad in playin NBA so that's not my bad defense :) They also almost made all adjusted shots. I hope You help me!

even at 0 won´t work. Seems like the blocking bug this year in tuned to the offensive boards...

You guys should check out Playmakers sliders at operationsports.com. He comes out with some of the best sliders every year. Theyre designed for ps2 but it makes no difference as I ve tried already. He also has great team strategies that get the go- to players the ball. Just awesome, I recommend you check em out.

Sun Oct 02, 2005 1:02 pm

Yo, Shaft good looking on the sliders. I haven't used them yet but I plan on it. From just looking at them though I feel your 100 ratings are too high. Shouldn't they be down significantly to make it more realistic or is there not a huge difference in game play with them up? I'm pretty sure that the D rebounding is cool cause its just too many damn O Rebounds this year, but whats up with the blocks and the fake out discipline.

And whats up with these Andrew Sliders everyone is talking about. Was these like the best last year or something and if so when is whoever going to put out an updated version and not just some altering by somebody else who didn't post the original. I'm looking for the realest game play possible y'all, with the biggest cut on all the bullshit as possible ie O rebounding, a million fouls by the user and not enough against the cpu or away team. They did make it so that there are not that ridiculous amount of turn overs this year but I play fast real fast like game speed 65 or 70 I can't take that slow shit. Hell this is the NBA. You guys realize how fast the game pace is out there, its on another level. Something you can only get idea about from watching it live. I play with everything else pretty much as the majority of all you play and I don't get really high scores. Sometimes the CPU does not even break a hundred on me and thats playing 8 minute quarters. I just need a cut on all the bullshit. Somebody tell me who is the most accurate poster? I don't want to do alot of altering to my sliders every hour or day. I just wanna play. Shit take a vote or something I don't care but lets narrow it down to the bests and not alot of spam.

Hey guys I am a new member but a crazy Live fan ever since '97. This looks like a great forum, I've always been reading it but never posted any messages.

Anyways, here are my sliders (9 minute play, superstar)

I find them to play to be fairly realistic while still providing highlight plays. Here's the team stats from a game where I used the New Orleans Hornets against the Miami Heat: Sorry I didn't save the box scores, but they turned out pretty real too. JR Smith had 30 points, Chris Paul 22 points, while Magloire had 22 and 13. Shaq and Dwyane Wade each had 25 while Posey and Walker 14 and 17. Jason Williams passed for 9 assists. Tell me what you guys think.

you can lower these :

CPU Dunk Percentage
CPU Lay-up Percentage
CPU Adjusted Shot Percentage

I just like the blocks from last year and the cpu just dunks on you if you play good defense inside without jumping on the default sliders. It does make a difference when they are high like in mine, but you still have to time them well. Like you said it should be realistic and i get around 6 to 8 blocks a game now with the warriors, they have a good blocking team, but no inside stoppers. 6 is pretty average in the NBA.

Don't know what it is with the fakeout discipline so i just left it like it was. You should uppen the games speed to your liking, but i have the warriors and they are pretty fast on my gamespeed and i get pretty high scores now on 8 minutes.

Mon Oct 03, 2005 8:51 am

To add to the realism of the game one thing you might want to try is playing "locked" on one position (center, power forward, etc.)

This will make it so you can only control one player at a time (well you can tell the AI players when to shoot and to pass the ball to you...) meaning that more often than not you won't have 2-3 players going off for 30 points a game...

I'm trying to design sliders that are ideal for this actually :=P...

On a side note another thing I liked about playing with the "locked" option was that when you're playing with either a power forward or center it's a lot easier for you to get those elusive defensive rebounds as you'll be able to concentrate more on boxing your opponent out and getting into position down low...

Whether it's because i'm not that great of a defensive player in 06' or not I also found the defensive matchups to be more enjoyable when I controlled one player instead of five...

It's just something that I feel a lot of people haven't tried out but I would reccomend that they do!

Please take a look at this thread over at OS. I hope it's ok to post the link.

There is a guy over there that goes by Playmakers. He's made sliders for Madden and I think NHL.

This has truly changed the game for me.

I only played a quarter with these sliders(small sample size) , but the score was deadlocked.

He sets up all the plays for all the teams on the D end and offensive end.

I think you need to sign up to view the thread, I'm not sure, though.

Everything is on the first post. You don't need to read the 10 plus pages. He's almost finished with all the teams plays.

His Sliders are set for all -star level. i play on superstar, so no use for me to use those and the Sliders i posted in this topic are working well for me and are pretty realistic.
i don't like his sliders that much these sliders in particular:

Game Speed: 45 or 50 >>>>the scores will be too high
Injury Frequency: 62>>>why is this so high?
Shooting Foul Frequency: 45>>>>>>this should be way lower
Reach-in Foul Frequency: 60>>>>>>also way lower
In-air Collision Foul Frequency: 100>>>>wtf?

The rest of hos sliders are based on All -star level, so i would't know about those in superstar mode. The differ from mine, but he may have a different playing style. I compared them to my sliders. We were almost even on 50% of the sliders.

*UPDATE*
I Have also updated my sliders after a couple of more games played. Scroll up and check them out! I hope it helps a little.
