thats exactly what i was afraid of... take Nowitzki, press superstar button+pass it will ALWAYS go in. ALWAYS!
at first i though it was only on all-star, so i moved up to superstar, same deal... pass the ball to Nowitzki, press superstar+pass, 99% of the times it will go in. it drives me nuts! i can win any team in superstar with Nowitzki making 90% of the total team points...
i didn't had the chance to play a lot but i can imagine that there are other superstar abilities that always make points.
what do u guys think? maybe i should change the sliders?

i though NBA Live is sim not arcade! freestyle superstar was and is a great idea but don't make them so easy!

i am an NBA Live fan, played every game since 98, i loved them all.
but now i just bought the new game that i so looked forward to, and i'm frustrated... i don't understand y r u so angry, i mean i'm sure u guys like sim too, and that u don't want to win every game with one hand behind ur back...
soxfanrjs u basically told me not to use all the new cool stuff that r the main reason that i bought the game for...
just wanted to know if u guys feel the same way...

I've been playin live since 95 and I would agree that the game is a little easy transitioning from 2005.

I never fooled around with the sliders in live 2005 superstar mode aside from the fatigue slider which i set to 50. And i have to admit the default was way too hard and unfair.

I had to make changes on my playing style when I moved from 2004 to 2005. why?

> almost 60% of my passes were being intercepted.
> The all so powerful jump half step results either in an offensive foul or a steal when done incorrectly (in contrast to 2004).
> Transition basketball was close to impossible.
> My Jumpshooters need to be free to make their shots. (unlike the CPU, remember ray allen?? hehehe)

So with this I opted to play more half court sets and use more screens on offense and focus on making interceptions and blocks on defense to make up for the "debuffs". (hehehe No wonder 2006 is so easy for me now) anyway...

2005 was fun but it is so hard to make my team (pistons) play as they do in real life. I can't make hamilton make those clutch jumpshots. I can't make the surprise three's from billups and not even the strong post up moves from prince.

This year I think they did a very good job on letting us play the teams the way we want them. If I want billups to rack up three's, I can set plays and he'll rack up three's (I'm still waiting for duncan to do the travelling call motion hehehe). If I want Hamilton to run off screens and make leaning jumpers, I can do it without busting a knuckle. Calling a play and getting basket from it is FUN enough for me. I think the gaming experience all boils down to how you play the game.

I'm very satisfied so far with what they did this year. I'll be spending time on each game enjoying the results of the plays I run rather than stressing myself trying to figure out a consistent formula to beat the AI.

I can still remember my first play when I bought the game was a 2 on 1 break off a hamilton steal, hamilton to prince, prince to billups, billups to prince and prince automatically takes it strong to the hoop and goes for a left handed layup...aaaah ...PRICELESS! well 39.99$ to be real hehehe. Yeah, the fastbreak is sooo much better. It has been well done and well balanced. That's probably one of the most fun parts of the game.

Oh I almost forgot, Thanks EA for saving the play and camera settings for every game. Now I don't have to Esc out of the game every tip off to set up everything.

If you use a cheap tactic over and over again you will end up with skewed stats. This is the same for every sports game. Instead of abusing a money play, try sharing the ball, or playing a team style game.

Right on, I'm totally with you. The guy's totally a terd, it drives him nuts yet he does it 90% of the time against every team, then complains about it. What a terd.

The only way to solve this problem is. Trade Dirk for somebody else. lol

Actually I agree the superstar freestyle is too powerful sometimes (especially the highflyer, shooter & scorer)

I hope there's someway to fix this but if not.

I suggest you to try to change your style of playing, don't use Dirk to take shots all the time;
try to make plays for other players;
take normal shot rather than superstar shot

Its fun but it aint real, you want real get 2k6.......I got em both but I play 2k6 more

I barely even use the superstar freestyle. I personally think it's a pretty lame gimmick.
I use the celts quite a bit and Paul Pierce absolutely owns! Even without the superstar shots he still dominates. He's averaging about 31 ppg in my dynasty and that seems pretty realistic to me. I could score 50+ a game with him easy but that would be pretty boring.

noone cares for your opinion, if u want it to be hard, put every User Slidder to Zero and go for it....

So, in a real basketball game, if someone is able to score 50 points, the team doesn't go to that player so it isn't boring??

When you say 'superstar button' ... do you mean pro hop or something?

No, there's actually a superstar button that gives this godlike boost.

I agree also, I am a Defense fan. This game has no Defense. The few who want a grind and tustle were left out in the cold. I have even stopped contesting shots when I play online, it is useless. I mean, al u have to do is be the best shooter and u will win. Although the arcadish style makes for some intense moments(I won 2 games in a row at the buzzer). That is not how basketball is played.

Exactly. This shit is like Live 2003 all over again. Don't talk about sliders, this thing is just too damn arcadish.
