Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

Played a game on SUPERSTAR. Here's the boxscore.
Yes. I lost. I took every shot from under the basket and played D casually.
Please, no comments about how I should take more shots with guards to make it more realistic.
It can't be this easy... can it?
Fri Sep 30, 2005 1:34 am
Scoring is just too easy this year, the best way to fix high scoring problems is to put the shooting levels below 40 (even at 40 you can still score easy).
Fri Sep 30, 2005 1:41 am
Shooting? I didn't shoot once in that game. All I did was dunks and layups. I've switched the sliders every way possible. You can just walk to the basket!
Fri Sep 30, 2005 2:02 am
Did u hav fatigue effect on 0?
Fri Sep 30, 2005 2:09 am
that's what those idiots at EA get when they tone down the indide defense and tone UP UP UP the offensive moves in the game and don't ask real gamers for evaluations. They probably ask dumbass little kids for advice and they are easily impressed. Even the nba players like Wade was asked about the game and he didn't have anything bad to say about it. WTF? he ain't gonna tell them about the bad parts of the game........he's on the damn cover.
Their use of feedback and evaluation is very bad and they have a very bad implemention-feedback time. Most of the things can't even be fixed after they are done. There should be a period of improvement between the final version and the release date. and i am not talking about rosters and shit

Right on man.
they dont even read their own boards..
They dont provide a way to get feedback from players.
Their stupid survey the give give u when u buy the game has
no reference to game play or feed back for the game. just marketing
bs. I wish i could i get a one on one interview with somone in their team
I will let them know what their game is really like.

Jugs, fatigue effect was 0. But, I've tried different teams, players, sliders and EVERY TIME you can walk inside and dunk (or layup).
I'm losing my mind with the game.

thats because they arent TIRED and they have unlimited energy to run into the key
Fri Sep 30, 2005 2:31 am
Jugs, you should try it yourself. No set plays, no jump shots, no three-pointers, just run and dunk with your big guys.
Fri Sep 30, 2005 2:34 am
I have and they dont do that ... i actually have to pass it around
Fri Sep 30, 2005 2:37 am
I passed it too, from Yao to Swift or Swift to Yao. That was the only pass I had to make on the offence.

Then Well Done on finding out a strategy to beat teams
Fri Sep 30, 2005 3:56 am
If it was that easy you think you would have won with just dunks and layups.

Then Well Done on finding out a strategy to beat teams
The funny part is he didn't even beat them with his plan. He was beaten by the Kings.

His fault for not using the strategy right

It's a stupid strategy though. Why would you just want to dunk with Yao & Swift? If you're not going to play realistically, don't make a thread saying it's alarming. Stop scaring others.

Because most people only want dunks, and showtime. They are catering to what most of the buyers want. Not us few here who want more sim.

I'M not playing realistically?? What's realistic is that the opponent plays a little defence to keep me from dunking all over the place!!
Yeah, I figured it's funny because I lost. But it was my first full game on Superstar and I shot 68% or something, I was fouled on the ones I missed. I didn't really bother playing defence either. And didn't take shots with my guards because I wanted to try and make a point!
Do I need to make a full dynasty to get my point across?
Fri Sep 30, 2005 5:29 am
Personally I think you should shut up and follow Jackal's statement.
Fri Sep 30, 2005 5:47 am
I got the pc version and I have to agree there is very little defence, even if you contest every shot they will still drop in.
Fri Sep 30, 2005 5:51 am
So I should try taking hard shots then? Fadeaways with Bob Sura? Is that what NBA teams do, take tough shots so they couldn't be able to dunk all the time?
A game is realistic when the CPU forces you into tough shots.

What are the settings for your sliders? What about the CPU sliders? How about increasing the CPU defensive sliders (i.e. on ball physical defense, double team effectiveness, etc)? Also try changing your fatigue to 45 or 50, since you mentioned that it was set at 0.
Fri Sep 30, 2005 5:59 am
Bada Bling, I tried CPU on-ball physical defence on anything from 40 to 100.

I just played a game with LA & Carmelo contested a jumper by Kobe and it didn't go in. In fact, Denver was kicking my ass 18 to 7 until I stopped it for CSI.
Anyways, it's started again, keep on dunking.

I gotta agree with air, the game's interior defense is terrible. I played with the Suns, and I had some fun with Amare, who took 23/28 for 58 points. It's not so much I wanted to go in and dunk it all the time, but the fact that the inside is so open compared to the outside, where the defense is excellent. That stupid Power Superstar feature that Amare has enables him to literally jump over anybody, dunk it, and draw the foul. It's not that I'll be using this everytime I want a basket, but the fact anybody can abuse this if I'm playing against a human opponent. I can't believe that it's so easy to actually push anybody away inside and just dunk it in. And yes, I changed sliders. That's one pathetic aspect of the game, although I am enjoying the other new aspects of the game. There's a lot of good things with the game, but there's some serious problems.
