what's that flashy light shown when a player receives a pass? does it tell you that that player is a Freestyle superstar? Isn't it annoying?

For those whose in Canada, did any of you guys get this game for $39.99 Canadian? i thought the game would be like 59.99 or something, but NBA LIVE 06 was 20 bucks cheaper than NHL LIVE.... it's strange but i'll take it!!
