Sat Sep 24, 2005 8:02 am

Hey,

Is it not possible to backdown when using the keyboard? Someone please help!!!

Thanks!

Don't use keyboard. It's not possible to do a lot of shit because the keyboard sucks for games for the msot part.

Did they not include an instruction booklet?

Sat Sep 24, 2005 9:07 am

just buy a controller, you can get one for 20 dollars

Sat Sep 24, 2005 9:33 am

I would recommend buying a controller, you don't get as good as a feel when using the keyboard. :)

Yeah i would recommend a Logitech Dual Action Gamepad or Logiech Rumblepad 2.
I have the Rumblepad 2 and its excellent. Pretty much a PS2 controller.
Also they are endorsed by EA Sports (has a logo on the box)

When I use the right analog stick on my controller, it just does the equivelent (sp?) to the direction on the buttons, like if i move it up its like pressing triangle, and if i move it down its like pressing X, can anyone help?

what kinda control u got?
That would suck not having freestyle control

Um its a "Power Wave" controller i bought from EB Games in Adelaide

im also having the same problem too, its shitting me how i cant play post with anyone. Manuals say that the spacebar and "r" key are the equivalent of the right analog stick but they dont work. I would get a controller but im too use to playing nba live with a keyboard.

geez. no one even answered the guy's question. You can backdown using the keyboard. there's a button for that

Sun Sep 25, 2005 8:29 pm

did you assign one in the controls section?

Mon Sep 26, 2005 2:25 pm

there isnt a category for "backdown". if there was obviously u could backdown. probably would be better just to get a controller.

Mon Sep 26, 2005 3:29 pm

I had the same problem, so yeah (Andrew possibly?) please answer the guys question, I get the ball in the post and I all i can do is run through the guy, its frickin' annoying. And the whole "go and buy a controller" thing isnt an answer to the question, and I ain't buying one either, always used keyboard always will.

Ok after much playing around I found out what they've done with the ol' backdown/post up key. Pull and hold the right thumbstick in the down position to go into a backdown/post up position.

It's kinda awkward to be honest but you get used to it.
So I guess for those without the thumbsticks it'd be holding the key that represents your back step special move. A tap should make your player take a back step but holding the button should make them go into a backdown/post up.

Mon Sep 26, 2005 5:29 pm

are u talking about the pro hop/jump button?

Mon Sep 26, 2005 6:10 pm

No. When you play with a controller pushing down on the right thumbstick makes the player take a back step, works good for getting open shots etc. When I pull down and hold the right thumbstick it takes me into the post up/backdown animation.

Sorry. I am not sure what the button would be on keyboard but it's not pro hop/jump.

Tue Sep 27, 2005 7:46 pm

anyone found any solution for the keyboard users?

Tue Sep 27, 2005 8:59 pm

ok i got nbalive06 but it seems strange i can't backdown on my keyboard.

Wed Sep 28, 2005 10:37 pm

I admire your guys for playing using the keyboard all these years.
It requires skill.
I have a logitech dua action, and I bet i can´t beat by anyone who plays with the keyboard. I´ve never tried to match someone on the keyboard, cuz all my frieds use the joystick...
oh welll

Peja16, its you from Stage 9 right??

Wed Sep 28, 2005 11:27 pm

I've had similar problems. The back down function, as mentioned by mozza is now achieved by holding down the right analog stick. So, I don't know about doing that on keyboard.

Also, I used to use that same button for boxing out. Now how the heck do I box out, cos, when the ball is in the air on a rebound and i press down on the analog stick, I do a stupid off ball control move, not box out. grrrrr.
