The FREE AGENTS BUG: is it fixed?

Thu Sep 22, 2005 7:21 am

Can someone who's got the game simulate a season and see if good players are still left unsigned because of salary cap issue?

This really drove me crazy last year.....

Thu Sep 22, 2005 7:23 am

Yeah it still happens, but it isn't really a bug... it's just a nuisance (sp?)
I think it's time to do some salary cap editing again, or dbf sign some players :|

Thu Sep 22, 2005 7:30 am

I can't...I play on xbox.
Damn, that is really fucked up...we have been pointing out the problem for at least 2 years in a row...and they didn't do anything about it....... :x

Thu Sep 22, 2005 7:30 am

what about MLE? is that on there yet?

Thu Sep 22, 2005 7:32 am

Mid Level Exception isn't on there either...

that REALLY sucks

no new salary rules in the game??? as a PS2 player it's a bad news to me :(

Thu Sep 22, 2005 8:02 am

very very disapponting.

The MLE is so easy to implement...

And for salary cap, it should be fairly easy to have FAs demanding less money once the new season begins, instead of completly skipping it.

Some lazy asses at EA this year...........

Not really. They worked very, very, very hard on the superstar thingy.

Thu Sep 22, 2005 9:31 am

i would not say the MLE would be easy to add to the game. there will be alot of balancing issues for sure when they finally add that in.

With what, 100 people on each cataglory????

Thu Sep 22, 2005 7:10 pm

The MLE is easy to implement IF you don't implement the splitting of the MLE, but that sure beats the hell out of no MLE! (Mid Level Exception would act as a dummy player or something I guess.)

true.

they overemphasized the new features every single year and left tons of bugs and glitches in the game...
:(

So.....EA is giving us an update version of previous year games instead of releasing a REAL new game......Yet, many in this forum defend EA by saying that the game as it is now, is a good starting point to develope next version, without rewriting it from scratch, as long as they fix major bugs.

But, they haven't rewritten the game and they haven't fixed the bugs.

Why buying the game then????

I am seriously questioning what's going on this year. 2005 had enough new stuff (all star game, rookie scouting, pda and so on.....)

But 2006???

Things will get worst untill people like us will continue buying the game, no matter what. But that's just throwinh away money, in my opinion.

If they redid it all every year, we wouldn't get it each year. I'd rather get it every year if EA ever get their act together and start listening to the community about which features that should a/ be put back, b/ not removed and c/ improved.

No reason to remake the whole schlammer each year, now is it?

Thu Sep 22, 2005 10:05 pm

In my opinion, yes. And other software houses to do it, and still release the game annually.

But the main point is that they didn't even take a look at some of the major flows in the game.

I really can't believe something like Freestyle superstar can take a whole year of development, that's just bullshit, sorry. Freestyle superstar is a little more than a bunch of new moves and joypad controls.

And what about rosters? No one at EA could dedicate a sigle working day doing most recent trades???? Seriously.....WHAT'S GOING ON??? either there has been a major layoff at EA'a offices....or they worked on a different game other than Live. Neither of the 2 is fair to us loyal fans.

Or maybe this has something to do with a totally different version of Live '06 coming out for Xbox 360.

What he said.....actually this is just a waste of a post...

Just showing my opinion I guess

I guess it's just dbf-editing again....you can assign players say like Sprewell an asking price of $4.5 mill for one season and put it down as minimum and he can be signed I believe....although may as well just put him at lower value I guess....

it would be very handy to be able to split a MLE between 2 solid role players.....ahh well, it's a shame there is no MLE but I'll survive....

Fri Sep 23, 2005 3:41 am

This is as good as it will get folks!!! EA will be focusing (and probaly has already durning the making of 06) NBA Live 07 for PS3. You'll be very lucky if you see anything new besides roster updates on the next Live. It's been a very frustrating last five years to see the minimal updates done to the Live series and to see all of EA's other titles get dynasty makeovers. Live only gets touch ups. EA says they read the boards, if so they must see us writing about adding mid level and fixing the free agent bug. :x Com'on, they said they fixed the gameplay last year and they would be working on the dynasty mode for 06. Guess that was a crock!

Fri Sep 23, 2005 4:25 am

If those guys who make sim games can do it, why can't EA though? Those guys have MUCH less staff than EA does. Or in fact, why not just hire them?

Fri Sep 23, 2005 4:55 am

MLE is very important and i wish it was in the game.
Another thing is the trade slots. In real life there are trades with like 4 players and draft picks in addition therefore there should be more than 3 trade slots.
For example, you cant send 3 players and get 3 players plus a draft pick.
