also we can compare him with Yao... Yao's passing is 69, Dirk's 37 :?: that's way too ridiculous, isn't it?

Thu Sep 22, 2005 7:42 am

Yup, Yao's is way too high, he does have better passing skill, but you have to put up the numbers too.

Thu Sep 22, 2005 7:47 am

I agree, Yao have better hands, but at first he have to show his capacity as you said...

Thu Sep 22, 2005 8:59 am

I think Lebron James is way to high and shouldnt be a power player and Jermaine Oneal is to low

Thu Sep 22, 2005 9:00 am

I mean Jermaine Oneal is better than Yao and Richard Jefferson

Edit your post, don't double post ...

I think Dirk's pretty fair. Honestly, whether the ratings are exact or not doesn't bug me, as long as they're close enough. And I almost never care about overall rating, all it does is let idiots complain about it, it doesn't help that much.

Thu Sep 22, 2005 9:03 am

if your not satisfied just edit them, year after year the ratings suck JUST EDIT THE PALYERS YOU WANT TO HAVE HIGHER OR LOWER RATINGS

Thu Sep 22, 2005 9:36 am

steal can be 60 or something instead 57

Yeah, that'd make such an enormous difference.

i guess it does. i think it works with a certain percentage on the stealing or something. i noticed that in dynasty certain players steal the ball noticably more often after a training session.

:D yeah, you'r right but with these little differences in some skills he can gain +2 overall and most people stop complaning about his underrated overall rating

Thu Sep 22, 2005 11:36 am

Um, I think he was being sarcastic .........

Um, I think i wrote a reasonable answer

 I've posted this at least 20 times.

Listen, the ratings are NOT, let me say that again, ARE NOT, the ratings in real life. These are an average of all his INDIVIDUAL ratings together. Because some things of Nowitzki are low, i.e. blocking... passing, etc, his rating on the game will be low, but that doesn't mean he can't be one of the most dominating players in the game, because his offensive ratings are high..

The other players, like kirilenko, ginobili, have a much more rounded game, they will be higher in dunks steals, dribbling, etc, so their overall rating will be higher!

Good Lord, it's not a hard concept to grasp.

Thu Sep 22, 2005 2:55 pm

Man,how can it be this exgerating???EA uses their OWN opinion..If we want to have our own better we pass our resume to them..If our problem is Dirk's rating to others,EDIT it and uses our own opinion on that we could be much happier.

Don't you guys remember that they changed the way ratings looked as of Live 2005? In previous live's if a player had a dbf value of 50 overall than his in-game rating was 75. So maybe a rating of 86 is like 90 or 91(of previous lives).

I am laughin so loud to all of you dirk will rule look at this link
http://www.nba.com/statistics/2004/defa ... =0&stat=27
it says it all he is the 3rd best player in the NBA and when i got the game
he surely will be the 3rd best player in my dynasty
he is the 9 best rebounder in the nba
he is the 4th best scorer in the NBA
and the 3rd most efficiency player in the NBA
and they give him a rating lower then Kirilenko hahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Fri Sep 23, 2005 8:01 am

micheal redd a 76 :x

Fri Sep 23, 2005 8:18 am

Efficiency isn't the rank of players, first of all it takes no account to defense, and also it doesn't take into account MPG. In addition to that, big men always get an advantage over guards because they shoot higher percentages, and it's easier to get rebounds than it is to get assists, which is normally the difference between big's and guards statistically.

Anyone that thinks efficiency is the rank of players doesn't know basketball, sorry, but it's true. So Brad Miller is the 11th best player in the league?

Fri Sep 23, 2005 8:22 am

so the 4th best scorer is no rank hahahahahhahahah
the only problem that i have is that a lot of player who are much weaker have a higher rating

Fri Sep 23, 2005 8:24 am

it is also important that dirk hits points when you need them
that makes him a good player with big BALLS

Fri Sep 23, 2005 8:30 am

Their's no clutch rating in the game, it's nice he has big balls, good for him (Y)

Sat Sep 24, 2005 11:20 am

people seriously need to get over the overall ratings.

Sat Sep 24, 2005 11:32 am

yeah,i personally didnt care, dirk is good so i dont care about the rating

Sat Sep 24, 2005 12:35 pm

Null17 wrote:his poor defense and a couple of other things might've pulled down his overall rating. he's still pretty dominating in the game anyway. especially if you know how to utilize him properly. overall ratings aren't that important

Yeah overall rating are less important.
