Nowitzki rating ridiculous

Well,I think this is the most underrated player in every single nba live serie !
the last 2 years he has been always one of the top 3 overall players and only gets 86 this year after his unbelievable season last year !
players like kirilenko,ginobili or jason richardson (only to name a few)are rated way better than dirk !that really sucks and makes me angry !
I totally understand that KG is rated with 96,he really deserves it because he is the only player who beats dirk every year in the overall ranking !
but come on guys,hands down DIRK deserves at least a 91 or 92 !

you're right, Dirk is top5 in the league. I just watched the game Germany vs. Turkey and Dirk played just godlike.
But I guess that his overall rating is relativly low because of his defense (which isn't as bad as people say).
He finsihed 3rd in the MVP-Voting... 'nough said

because he choked in the playoff last year...

his poor defense and a couple of other things might've pulled down his overall rating. he's still pretty dominating in the game anyway. especially if you know how to utilize him properly. overall ratings aren't that important

garnett didn´t even get the chance to choke in the post season,because he didn´t bring them that far!so this can´t be the reason !

yes they are only numbers but it shows how good a player is overall!

Let's be clear, when people play online it isn't Dirk and Jason Terry getting 80 of 110 points, it's the human player using Dirk and Terry.

If the opposing player can't stop drives, then it's easy to drive. If the opposing player isn't stopping the outside shot, then outside shots become easy.

Dirk and Jason aren't playing. You are.

This is one reason I'd like to see a game with more money spent on the game and no money wasted on NBA licenses.

Overall ratings don't mean as much this year, people have got to get that through their heads.

Dirk is unstopabble, even if his overall is a bit low (because he has poor defense...).

In one of those thousand other places, it tells you why their ratings are so weird.....

Dirk is good overall, but not nearly as good as garnett. have you seen him run? he is fast for his height, but not as quick as garnett. He is quick for his size, but not as quick as garnett.

Besides.......i don't understand why peeps bitch about Dirks ratings. clearly if you can play the game of nba live from 2004 to 2005 and i bet 2006.........he will be dominant. If you can't play or haven't mastered certain aspects of nba live then you expect dirk to outdribble guys at the point guard spot and shoot threes every possesion down.

play him as a power frward or a posting small forward and watch what he does to the stat sheet.

4 real, too much bitching,for the last time , OVERALL ratings dont mean much,its not inferring dat the other players rated higher than Dirk are BETTER than him, i find it sad ppl havent grasped this concept yet...stop crying if ur fave player got a "lower" rating wen in fact all the categories they're known for are well maxed out

Dirk has been one of the best players, hands down in NBA Live 2005, despite what his overall ratings say. Dirk's defense isn't that bad, since he's been improving in that department over the years. Overall ratings don't tell the whole story. It might sound strange that Kirilenko is ranked higher, but it's because of his versitality on both ends of the court that gives Kirilenko that high rating.

If you ask me, those stats are very fair.

maybe ;

steal can be 60 or something instead 57 (last year 1.24 per game)
block can be few under 70 instead of 63 (last year 1.53 per game)
passing is the most underrated side of him, i can give like 49-50 cause his passing skills are good for a PF (with 3.1 pg)

by this way he can take about 20 more points and as i think like it's live 2005, this means +2 overall... 88 is fair

other ratings are fair in my opinion... but remember his teammate Terry never plays like a guy with 80 rating...

Anyone see anything wrong here? He's not a big stealer of shot blocker, and not a jumper or good dunker. He has good handles for a big, is durable, his speed is about right since he's quicker than he's fast and not that fast, and he's not a power big. So before you complain, look at the INDIVIDUAL ratings.

passing is the most underrated side of him, i can give like 49-50 cause his passing skills are good for a PF

what i understood from the ratings system was that :

50 to 60 steady
61 - 70 above average
71- 85 all star ability
86- 99 superstar

well.......dirk isn't a bad passer for a PF, but i can't remember him giving important passes or anything fancy either. He probably passe out when he is double teamed in the post or when he is driving and runs into big guys and a teammate will hit the open jumper. And look at his teammates in dallas.....Terry, finley, stackhouse...those guys are good perimiter players....3 apg isn't that good for a guy that plays around 39 mins a game.

and oh yeah.....his passing could be 40 in my opinion, but his jumping is not 60 . the dude barely jumps at all. he has a 20 inch vertical i think. maybe less.

He averages about 3 APG, so he should be at about 47 ish, I missed that part, so that should get him up to about 88 possibly which is about right when you consider hos overall game an athleticism.

I didn't read the last posts, but I will say my opinion anyways:

Dirk is the only well rated player I saw in this game. K-Mart overrated, LeBron (even if you don't believe it) it's underrated, Bowen, etc... I think freestyle superstars are making this game funny but at the same time a little unrealistic talking about players performances. Anyways, if we enjoy that's the most important.
