15. Rasheed Wallace.

- Overall rating is 89 which doesn't make sense at all because he only scores above 89 in only one category (ins.scr), so how can he be 89 overall? then I took the time and added them up and divided them by 19 which gave me 70.47 averaged. I think there's something funky going on with these ratings.

Antoine Walker, contrary to most people's beliefs, has a very good 3. Although I don't personally think it should be 74, (I think more like 65-70, he has a good shot. The only problem with him though, is that he shoots too many ill-advised shots, which put his percentage down. If he has a good shot though, more times than not it will go in. Heck, I don't even like the guy, but I will give him that much.

His shooting is as best doubtable, and coupled with his piss-poor shotselection makes him a bad shooter. Aspecially since he passes up on decisions with the ball in his hands that makes his better benifit.

So, offensive awareness is close to or equal to 0, and a FG/3pt rating over 65 ludacris.

The list is quite a good representation of the top tier NBA players today... There were some errors, like there always are, but it's a good list.

Marion is where he should be... He's has great athletic skills to complete the package of great overall game... If he only was a couple of inches taller, then Phoenix would have like two Amare's running around... Which would be so nice!

LeBron is worthy of the 95... He's the man, he will probably propel himself to be the best player out there this season and there's nothing no one can do about it, unless Marshall, Hughes and Damon decide to start keeping the ball away from the man-child! But that will never happen. I've been talking triple double mania like nothing before!

Too many stoppers are on the list... There are some guys that certainly wouldn't deserve the stopper status, but hey, it's only a game...

And what comes to ratings! Andrew always does a great job with them in my books. I've always liked his roster patches and hopefully one will be available when I get the game, hopefully sometime early October... Atleast one with the rosters in place even if the rating tweaking isn't done yet!

Can't wait to get my hands on this product already!

dirk should be one too then, their
stats in blocks are about the same
for the past 3 years and last season too.

Ratings are never gonna be perfect but imo the consistency has dropped quite a bit beginning with live 05.

I'm sure the ppl at ea must watch nba games but cocaine's a hell of a drug j/k

yeh i think marion now should border top 10 but
not as high as five i think ea had him. should have him
more like 9 or 10, 11 (i spose a overall of 87-89, 91 is still too high). he is def. a scorer, dunker, stealer, rebounder, athletic, a good three
throw shooter and good on both offense and defense.
he is a avg 3 shooter an ok passer but his blocks were
80 something, he is good but not 80 something, low 70's def.

So in superstar ability terms scorer yes, outside stopper yes, highflyer yes, insider stopper no.


Whoever said about the franchise and hair canada made a good point.

but overall ratings still do matter because it sums up your team's versatility in bball skills.

another thing of course player ratings in live are not real life but you want them to bare a fair amount of resembelence to the real players.

i have 10 to 15 lebron games here and in almost all of them he has pretty goos court awareness. Which includes defense. Defensive awareness is how he positions himself with the ball and his player, right? And how quickly he gets in good position to steal or get in front of his man. 87 is pretty accurate in that case. He gets a lot of steals because he is in good position to get those steals. Lebron rarely steals the ball of an opponent. he always gets them of the passing lanes.

He blocked dirks ass at the buzzer hehehehe......he is a pretty good shot blocker for a small forward. I guess his blocking ability has to do with his size also. I don't think he will be able to block shaq's dunks, but he will be able to block the smaller players with ease i guess........same goes for T. Prince.

MJ wasn't big either, but in almost all of the games i have seen. and i have a lot of Jordan games he blocks smaller players with ease. Tha twas missing from live 2004 and 2005........that players like Prince could block shots on smaller players like the better shot blockers can on all other players.

Yea, I suppose it's a matter of opinion though. Personally I think that he gambles way too often by going for the interception, which often is missed. And even if he gets a fair share of interceptions, I don't classify that as a good defender. He had the physical advantage over most players he defended, yet he failed a large amount of the times to contain them like he could once they got the ball. I don't consider him a good defender, but that's just my opinion..

But defensive awareness isn't about how good he is on the ball. I don't find him to be a good defender on the ball either. But he does position himself well to get the steal before the player he is guarding gets the ball. That is defensive awareness. He was an above average stealer so that is why heis an outside stopper. That isn't correct either in my opinion.

Well I don't see defensive awareness as just how he positions himself; I see it as the complete understanding of defence in general.. As I said earlier, it's a matter of opinion.

Marion could easily be a top 10 player in today's Nba. There aren't too many players with better "overall" game... just to mention a few - Kevin Garnett, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant and a few others. That's why his overall rating is pretty good and high coz he's good in every single stats category.

Perhaps Lebron is a power player because he makes some powerfull dunks?

So yeah whats up with Dirk? he's easily a top 10 guy, his FG,3P,FT are like above 90 and he's pretty good in every other category. How did Marion got ahead of him?

Maybe EA should try to put a "playoff expertise" type of rating for all players so players who gets amazing stats (Marion) in the regular season but choke during critical moments (playoff) won't have his so hyped up overall rating. On the other hand a guy by the name of Robert Horry musta have a very high playoff rating. Like I said before not all players perfom the same in the playoff as in the regular season. But I know it won't happened because EA is happy seeing us as unsatisfied customers.

Nash's rating is fine, he was MVP, yea, but he's not very athletic, can't defend a lick, doesn't steal or block, isn't a big rebounder, how is he supposed to get a high overall? It's not like he put up his playoffs numbers during the season. He averaged 15-11, he won MVP not on individual numbers, but on team success and his team impact. Their's no ratings in the game for intangibles.....

Lebron's defensive awareness is too high, so are Stephon Marbury's, Yao's, and J-Rich. J-Rich and Marbury are far from being outisde stoppers. Joe Johnson also for some reason got a high steal rating when he's a terrible stealer, it's like 30 points higher than it should be.

Marion is a superstar role player, Nash would beat Marion in:

FG, 3PT, FT [not by much], Dribble, Pass, Offensive Awareness

Marion would beat Nash in: OReb, DReb, Steal, Block, D.Aware, Jump, Dunk, Inside Scoring, Stamina,

The difference in their dunk rating: 85 rating points, Nash has a 0 dunk, and Marion 85. Marion has an 80 block rating, and Nash 0m his clock should be about 75, but that again is a 75 point difference.

If LeBron is a power player and 95 T-Mac should be 96 with Power ability.
No one talks about T-Mac. He definitly did better than Kobe and LeBron. Goin to the playoffs, 13 points in 30 secs, His Dunking on Bradley. Also getting the Rockets their 50th win since 96'. Getting them in the 5th seed and after all that he is 93
Also LeBron Dunk is 97 and J-Rich is 94!

It's because he isnt the top 10 in the league in individual skill

I hate the way EA sports rated the players this year just for giving them freestyle superstar abilities. For example:

Bowen's steal rating in live 06 : 81 . Stats = 0.67 stls/g in 32 min/g
Peterson's steal rating in live 06 : 75 . Stats = 1.11 stls/g in 30.6 min/g

In few words: Peterson is a better ball stealer and bowen has 6 points more than him. I calculated Bowen today and his steal rating should be around 45 ( I don't remember the exact rating )

Happens the same with K-Mart in blocks. He's my second favourite player, but I don't like anyone to be super-over-rated. His block rating is 81, and he made 1.11 blks per game in about 32 min/game. Just two points less (83) than Ben Wallace (2.38 blks in the same game time ).

I tell you that I don't like to check stats to compare players, but if you're doing ratings based in players' stats, at least you could make them proportional. I hope you understand me. I'm sorry for my bad English.

I searched the ratings & here are my reviews...

As most of you said Rasheed is soo far away from having 89... Is he the #15 star in the league? NO! In my opinion his overrated ratings are ; def. rebound(84), hardiness(85), 3pt(70), ins. scoring(91), blk.(83) and def. awareness(85) Also I find ridiculous that he is covered with Power and ins. stopper abilities. Dirk had 1.4 blocks per game last season and he have a rating of 63, Rasheed had the same but his blocking is 83 He is way too overrated in my opinion...

Another overrated player I see is Ginobili... OK! he did great last year but come on... how come he is a playmaker or an ins. scorer his ins. scoring, passing, stealing and def. awareness ratings are too much overrated man! 88 overall means superstar, but I'm not sure he's a superstar yet... maybe in next years...

I think Yao's 87 is for to please Chinese people and make them buy the game he have 69 pass rating with .8 asist per game! Dirk's is 37 with 3.1 asist per game and KG's is 72 with nearly 5 asists this reminds me all-star starters voting

For the last spot, I wanna tell about Terry who isn't in the top 25... I think his 80 rating and playmaker ability is not fair, out. stopper ability is way too ridiculous...

lastly i'm agree with beau boy about KG's stamina... I wonder what did they think about when writing 60 have you guys ever see him fatigued in a game in real life? He's my man and won't let him get exhausted in the game
