Live 06 coming out early Sept. 6!!!

Stop by at a local GAMESTOP today to put more money down for the XBOX360. I asked one of the sales assocates when is Live 06 coming out for XBOX. He told me Sept. 6th, thats this Tuesday. I was shocked at first when I heard it but very excited so I preordered a copy.

Anybody in here aware that its coming early for the consoles?

This is how the conversation went:

Me: When is Live 06 coming out for XBOX?

SalesAssociate: The 6th.

Me: The 6th? (I was thinking the 6th of next month)

SA: Yeah the 6th of this month, thats this Tuesday.

Me: Oh shit werd!!!

SA: Yeah but its labor day on Monday so there might be a delay but Tuesday or Wednesday it should be here. You should reserve a copy, its $5.

Me: Yea no doubt.

Well, I'll believe it when I see it. But for now the 26th seems a little more solid. Was it the manager that you spoke to? Sometimes the employees at game stores don't have a clue. Some guy at EB games near my house didn't even know they made Madden for the PC.

You must be incredibly naive to think that sales associates have the power and knowledge to know the precise date that games come in. No offense.

As far as I'm aware, the earliest date I heard was September 26th, and past versions of NBA Live usually ship in October/November, so the thought of the game coming out in September 6th is pretty absurd.

I'll give you an apology if it does in fact come out on September 6th, but I'm willing to bet the salesman meant NHL 2006

Wow! Read carefully. I paid $5 to reserve the game. "Reserve" is they key word here. It guarantees me that I will get a copy on the release date and pay retai price for it.

Non taken but they work at a GAMESTORE. I can't believe you just said that. That is probably the dumbest thing I've heard. I don't know what kind of gamestores you have from where you live but knowing the release dates on games is their job.


They have more knowledge than you or me. Would it make sense that they would know when games are coming out. Its their job to know. Wouldn't you think they would have the information and knowledge to know when shipments of games are coming in.

Yes. If you don't compare other websites such as this one, the official EA website, and other retailers, and if they all give different dates to the one you encountered with this one specific retial store, then you might be able to single out which source might be wrong.

Inisde I saw a humongous cardboard cut out of Live 06 with Dwayne Wade on the cover and pointed to it and said " When is Live 06 coming out?". I''m pretty sure he knew what game I was talking about.

I guess we'll see on the 6th.

But how come EA did not say this on their home page?

guys fo all we know it could come out the 26th of october...all i mean by that is dont get ur hopes up...i think it would be the 26th of september...the 6th is a bit far fetched but u never know...maybe they are trying to get a head start on nk6...so who really knows...only the ppl at ea who are making the game and releasin it.

Why dont you go back there the 6th and see if they have it?
