Who says I don't like Live games? I think this is the 4th time I've said it, I've owned every NBA Live ever released... just because I'm not acting like a fanboy in the hope of getting a job with EA (unlike someone else I can mention...) doesn't mean I hate the Live series. I was disappointed in the last one and felt 2K5 was better. Also, I'm a moderator of every forum here. Not all of them are Live related.

I'm just saying that removing dynasty points, getting a hire/fire coaches thing where your coach actually matters, same for scouting, and HOPEFULLY a new and more active AI for trading and rumor milling and etc. that the dynasty is considerably different from last year and I believe it to be for the better. Ofcourse before we play test it for the first couple of months, then we really know if anything has changed, I'm just saying there are big reasons to stay positive about this and not go "aaaaahh, it's the same piece of crap we got last year"... Because hopefully it will be considerably different.

this might be the first live I won't buy, not at all impressed with the stuff they've shown so far.

They should model it after MVP Baseball 2005 which to me is the best sports game I've played in the last couple of years ( I don't play madden so I dunno about that )

MVP 2005 is ridiculousy good, but i dont think this live looks all that bad, just hope the ps2 version isnt choppy like 2005 was

Ratings, rosters etc aren't really an issue for me personally... I mean whether they fix it all up or not it's not exactly going to stop whatever enjoyment I can get out of the game. I think there's bigger things to worry about to be honest, like the fact that "Player Evolution" is the biggest addition to Dynasty mode

Not at all, really. If you strictly calculate the performance per minute played... still is posible, but I think if they did that they went so far.

It's another rating system, that's what I think.

I wouldnt worry about the ratings too much. They can easily be changed. Id be more worried about the things that are set in stone.

The menus...

EA really has a knack for making anoying counter intuitive menus. Honesty, i can't even imagine why the producers approved this rubbish.
The PDA is a horrible system. Having to click each section of the PDA to get a pointless message is very anoying. Couldnt they use the email system that Madden has? Only don't hide it in the menu's, make it the first thing we see on our nba live franchise desktop. Insignificant info like dropping down in the rankings should be colour coded and does not require an alert sound.

Anyone here played Championship Manager/Football Manager or even EA's Total Club Manager? This is the type of "email" menu we need. I dont wanna have to click on the PDA menu, then click on a box to get to the injury messages, then click on the actual message again to read it. And then back peddle two layers of menu's and repeat for the other categories...its freakin' anoying!

I really hope there isn't an abundance of 6'0 tall shooting guards again...Or SG/SF's that have 75 for quickness and 50 for speed

Coaches...

Their justification for coaches has me very skeptical about the quality of this feature.

"GS: Can you give us some general tips on managing your staff in dynasty mode?

DR: There are three strategies to use when you hire your coaching staff. Assistant coaches should be hired when a team is in a youth movement. It will help improve your team throughout the season. Scouts should be used when the team is going to be picking up a bunch of youth in the next draft. This will allow the user to scout more players, thus giving them a better picture of what kind of talent is out there and who can help the team. Trainers are useful, but one trainer should be able to cover what you need. If your team is old, but still good, you might want to pick up a second trainer so that you can keep your old players on the court instead of the injured reserve list."

These aren't strategies! Assistant coaches/Scouts/Trainers come standard! They are not hired as part of some lame strategy in real life...If its in the game, its in the game? EA's approach to this new feature seems very very shallow.

I realise that i probably should have made some of these suggestions on the wishlist. Im not a regular poster here though, and besides, im sure the wishlist had many great suggestions that have obviously been overlooked. At least off the court anyway.

Im still optimistic about the gameplay, because that is what ultimately makes or breaks this game.

i just hope that they improve the offseason and the calendar. also allows us to fire a head coach and hire a new one. these are my three big concern.

You can hire personel to work with that guy specificially to make him get better. As he improves he has the potential to get a title as "scorer" "shooter" or whatever position he is. I asked him so if your guy is a rookie, eventuall he can be a power guy like shaq and get the special moves? He said yeah that its best to hire coaches based on your team. If you have a guy who is a SG you dont want to hire a coach who's specialty is big men.

What the producer was talking about is, during the season you get reports on your players, and it tells you how you should run your offense and defense. if you follow them and actually do them you have greater % at having a good year. If you dont then you dont play as well. Which makes sense. If you dont have the players to run and gun why are you going to? In years past you could run whatever and it doesnt matter.

don't be a fool (no offense) and let them fool you with that player evolution SH*t. We basically had the same stupid ass feature in 05 by hiring rebounding coach, and stuff of that nature. This game is stupid. If it was a whole new game it's ok but going from 05 to 06 the differences are minimal. And that freeystyle shitty thingy superstar is just a joke the same old shit because in the past version e.g. a player with 90 dunking can do dunk a 80 and 70 can't so basically they just added that "superstar" name on it, tweaked it a little bit and that was it and now they are expecting millions of consumers to buy their games.
