Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

I think the rumor mill could be a nice addition...I remember someone mentioning they wanted that.
Wed Aug 31, 2005 10:15 am
Rofl, did you see the scores of the games...
Hmm..Lakers only all star is Kobe.
Wed Aug 31, 2005 10:16 am
these screenshots and the video that previous was posted are not recent, because c. atkins and c. bulter, they shouldn't be lakers roster but in washington's roster. also were is walker, j-will and posey. they should be in miami's roster.
Wed Aug 31, 2005 10:22 am
So, it's not like they did anything big since then..
Wed Aug 31, 2005 10:30 am
Rofl, did you see the scores of the games...

I know!
Eh, it
looks (as in appereance) better than last year, but there doesn't to seem to be anything added from looking at the main dynasty menu thing and elsewhere. And 95 for Kobe? 93 for Wade, c'mon, just 'cause he's on the cover doesn't mean you have to boost up his rating by at least 8 points. Rumo(u)r mill looks kinda good though.
Wed Aug 31, 2005 10:32 am
LeBron better be 95. Wade is not better than LeBron...
LeBron isn't better than Kobe yet though. I'll have to 'boost' Wade down to about an 89.

sorry, but i don't fully understand rumor mill! so you mean there is rumor section in nba live 06 or what?
Wed Aug 31, 2005 10:51 am
Yeah, it comes as messages in your PDA. The rumor they showed was that Darko Milicic is currently working with a trainer. He fucking needs it so it shouldn't be a rumor. Oh well..

Nah. They send e-mails talking about players working with their coaches and what they are working on to improve the player's ratings.
Wed Aug 31, 2005 12:22 pm
this is a nice feature but there should have changed the way offsean goes. it don't like the way it is.
Wed Aug 31, 2005 12:57 pm
It looks like the ratings are more like they were in Live 2003, where a lot of players had high ratings. I mean...Rasual Butler had a couple of good playoff games and he got a 63 rating, while Caron Butler had a similar rating in Live 2005, and he's obviously way better. It looks like a rating in the 60s means you're just a benchwarmer now... and Dwayne Wade got a 93 already??
Wed Aug 31, 2005 1:05 pm
Dwayne Wade got a 93 already??
That's a little high, but I'd expect him in the 90's. He gives 25-5-7, and he was on the All-Defensive team, so they'll give him a high defensive awareness.
Wed Aug 31, 2005 2:11 pm
They're just way unrealistic...
Rasual should be 55
Caron should be 62
Dwyane 87
They're good but not fucking the top players in the league only a few people should be in the mid 90's..
Wed Aug 31, 2005 3:15 pm
Wade is on the cover, put 2 and 2 together, and you'll realize why I'll be changing his ratings when I get the game
We have also improved the strategic element of our game with the addition of new team-specific offensive sets--these are based on the type of personnel a team has on the court. We have improved the open court transition game with our fast breaks and we eliminated the stop-and-go feel of previous years with a new passing and receiving system that allows you to make these plays on the move.

Ratings aren't based on who puts up bigger numbers but who is better SKILLED.
Wed Aug 31, 2005 4:54 pm
Very true, I won't be surprised if Wade actually has a 92 rating, people make too much of a fuss, to me as long as the individual ratings are right I could care less about the overall. You have some guys who can jump and dunk and have higher ratings than guys you can actually use, doesn't mean they're better, they're just more athletic.
The athleticism part of the ratings just need to weight a little less, mainly the dunk and jump rating, quickness and speed affect actual play a lot in real life, so they're fine. Really the dunk rating shouldn't affect your overall, the jump is fine though. Ablity to do different dunks doesn't make you a better player. Also the injury proneness rating should've affect your overall either, hardiness that is...it should a little, but I think it should just be a rating for determining how much you get injured, it has nothing to do with basketball skill.

But it's not like the computer would trade someone with great athleticism, for example, for someone that's very quick. All it looks at is overall.

Thanks for the link again Da BaLLa

, you're really on top of things lately.
After seeing the video yesterday, I was rather dissapointed, but after reading this article, I'm starting to become optimistic again. Some nice new features are in it, even though it doesn't look to be updated at all, it does seem like an improvement. I'll wait and see how it is before casting my vote though, but from the looks of it, it seems like a small improvement at least.
By the way, very nice post fgrep15

ATLANTA HAWKS OVERALLS IN LIVE 06

J.Childress....75
T.Lue............67
J.Smith..........81
M.Williams.....75
T.Delk...........69
B.Diaw..........69
T.Gugliotta.....68

I like the new overall system, I think they use more stats per minute formulas, that's great. That's why Josh is 6 points higher than the rest, and Childress has the same overall value as Harrington and Williams. They are players that do a lot of things in few times, and they're atletics and good defenders. I love this overall system. Maybe they didn't change ratings value, just the overall formulas.

Cervantes,
I may have missed this, but where did you get the ratings from? were they from a screenshot?

That's true, but the computer also needs to be smarter in it's trading. Let's hope the ratings in general are ironed out in the future..
