attaining freestyle superstar ability through dynasty

Wed Aug 31, 2005 11:16 am

hopefully not brought up in previous superstar threads...but im wondering if anyone thinks it will be possible to have a player without a freestyle superstar ability to attain one through player improvement in dynasty. for example ben gordon eventually gaining the "scorer" attribute. Any thoughts??

Yes, I'm pretty sure someone said it will. Not 100 though..

if they are young enough to improve into a superstar :D

Wed Aug 31, 2005 12:08 pm

Of course. Why do they call it player evolution then. C'mon now.

Wed Aug 31, 2005 12:27 pm

but if such a thing is possible then what do they base it on? overall rating? or a combination of several ratings?

Wed Aug 31, 2005 2:12 pm

Let's say you have to have an 80 and an 80 for FG and 3pt. Then if someone is like 75 and 75 and in 2 year they become 80 and 80 then they would become a shooter superstar ability thing..

Yeah, I think the ratings dictate the freestyle superstar thingys as they did the icons before. It takes a combination of certain ratings to be over 75 to get the icons in Live 2005, and I'm guessing it's something like that in 06 too...

So if you have a high dunking rating and a high strength ratings, you could probably be a power player or with a high jumping rating you could be a high flyer or something... If it is so, I wonder if Amare could be a "high-flyer" too???

Well said Metsis.

well the new dynasty info from the gamespot interview said it is possible, but i think a player can only have one freestyle supserstar attribute for offense, otherwise i dont see how you select which one you want.

It was said that you can choose which one you want before a game. Dwyane Wade can be a Playmaker, Outside Scorer or High Flyer on offense, but only one of them per game.

Before the games you go in and choose what defense and/or offense superstar ability you want to use this game. If a team has short people you most definitely want to be shooter..if you have taller ..or bad post players you want power..I mean..its all strategy..

oh, my bad guys, i must have missed that. you think you can change them during the game as well, like maybe between quarters? odds are no, but it would be more realistic if you could.

Thu Sep 01, 2005 6:52 am

No, your choice will be permanent for the entire game.

Thu Sep 01, 2005 7:00 am

damn. oh well, its still going to be awesome....i hope

I reckon that's the next step, mixing and matching Superstar Freestyle moves and abilities, thus eliminating the need to choose one before the game for multi-talented players.

I'm pretty sure that in one of the vids the developer mentioned it being possible to become a freestyle superstar thru Dynasty.

Fri Sep 02, 2005 11:08 am

Dean Richards did indeed mention that in one of the recent interviews.

Fri Sep 02, 2005 2:54 pm

yes, but i posted this before the interview.

Fri Sep 02, 2005 3:09 pm

I know, I was just confirming Ruff Ryder's statement.

Fri Sep 02, 2005 3:18 pm

oh, my apologies.

Fri Sep 02, 2005 3:25 pm

No apologies necessary. (Y)
