Lockdown Stick For Live

Sat Aug 20, 2005 5:14 pm

NCAA Martch madness is gonna have something called the lockdown stick...from the videos it looks like the defense in the game looks great
NBA Live should use sumthin like ther lockdown stick for defense

heres the link for the lockdown stick video and let me know what yall think

http://www.easports.com/games/marchmadness06/videos.jsp?setID=Defense%20Creates%20Offense&resID=hi

they also have the defensive hotspots which are specific hotspots that u assign on the floor....when an offensive player gets to the hot spot the defense goes to trap him
if im correct one of those hotspots was shown in the earlier Live videos. hopefully they keep this in the final version of the game

Seeing as though we haven't heard anything about it being in NBA Live 06, I'm guessing it won't be in there as a surprise feature. It will be interesting to see how well it works in March Madness, if it proves useful and effective in making defense a lot better and more realistic it just might be worth adopting in the NBA Live series.

Their's not much pressure defense in NBA basketball. The only team that really ran that was the Wizards, so they could produce steals on defense.

Whoa. Don't forget about the Phoenix Suns. Geez.

Lockdown

That looks good.

Good defense and defensive plays are every bit as exciting as good offense and spectacular offensive plays. This has never been in the game. The feeling of playing in quiksand or playing underwater that you get when harassed by a great defense just hasn't been in the game.

The people who make the games and who market for EA only seem to understand dunks as exciting.

Hopefully also the computer players will play well in 06. If I'm playing against the PC controlled Cavs, I expect James to torch me. Up to '05, superstars on computer controlled teams or on your team (unless you take control) pretty much do nothing.

well i dunno about the PC but on ps2 the computer opponent's AI is crazy....the difficulty is just insane and they relly go to their key players....the AI on the user team hoever is another story.
players usually dont go for loose balls and u must play on ball defense because the CPU never jumps to contest a shot
