what do you think these symbols that i took from a nba live 06 vid mean

I'd say they're the Freestyle Superstar symbols.

I think they are the symbols that shows the players abilities while playing the game. For example, that symbol '3' means best 3 point shooter. The one with the hand with a circle in between means best shot blocker, etc. I could be wrong though.

Yea, it's as Andrew said, it's the signs for Freestyle Superstars.

Yea, I think it's about right, but the last 2 could possibly switch. And no, no speed will be in the game; Outside Stopper, Inside Stopper, Athletic Power, Dominant Power, High Flyer, Playmaker, Inside Scorer, Outside Scorer and Shooter are the freestyle superstars that there will be.

there will be no speed superstar, but now that you've brought up the point, it's a very good idea. there are some guards like tony parker that are below average shooters, pass the ball every once in a while, have an average midrange game but are so damm fast they make a living out of driving layups. it would be kinda nice to have a "fast dribbler" icon in the future. some would think that outside scorer could suit them, but actually guys like him don't belong there cause more than half of his baskets come from layups and "teardrops" near the basket (that's the animation you had in live 2005 when you forced a layup from a little further away that tony actually hits consistenly).

Those symbols look like from a fighting game! Sweet.
- Super punching ability (Indiana players have these)
- Can turn into Super Saiyan 3 or Overpaid player, 3 times the value. (Ilgauskas, Houston, etc.)
- Ability to fly or will find ways to "fly" to a new team if he doesn't like his old one. (Vince Carter, whiny biatch)
- Ability to stop energy blasts or a player that always asks for money or bigger salary. (Somewhat related to the "3" icon.)
- Super tornado technique, ability to recycle energy from his opponents or a player that does nothing except run around the court back and forth.
- FIREBALL technique or likes to light up a joint before every game.

See without the descriptions of what they do, I don't even know what half of those mean. I mean the twirling arrows? Awell, they do look kinda cool.

My guess would be:
- Player that has a lot of power
- 3 Point Shooters
- Big Dunker
- Shot Blocker
- Playmaker
- Speedster

this 1 and the fireball are confusing.. hmmm i got no clue.

Considering those are the six Freestyle Superstar categories, I'm inclined to agree with Andreas' suggestions.
