NBA Live 06: CDs or DVD?

Tue Aug 02, 2005 3:55 am

I wanted to know if the PC version of NBA Live 06 will be released in CDs or in DVD. In case it is in CDs, how many ones will it have? Thanks.

Most likely CD, and as for the number, probably the same as last year.

I hope DVD to add extra features to the game without bugs.

Of course CDs, you think they're gonna waste their money on DVD for us? good luck with that pal.

Let's see... 26c for 2 CDs vs $6 for a DVD :? hmmm.....

knowing EA, we're lucky they don't package it in a plastic bag with Dwyane Wade's face on it.

Releasing the game on DVD wouldn't eliminate the possibility of bugs, though it would have its advantages. However, I'm guessing that since a lot of people probably still don't have a DVD-ROM drive the PC version will consist of 2 CDs as it has done the past couple of years.

i'd like to have a DVD version but I doubt EA will do so.

EA released some games on both CD & DVD versions only for it's best selling games, such as the SIMS 2, BattleField 2.

I don't think they earn that much money on NBA Live (PC version), therefore, NBA Live will be in CDs. :(

It better be more than two CDs. If it will be, we again will see 64x64 textures.. (N)

All computer games are in CDs which means NBA Live 06 will also uses CDs.

Well, there are DVD computer games..
And I don't see why EA might not release 2 versions... :?

Absolutely; Sid Meier's Pirates (the remake released last year) was released on 2 CDs as well as a special edition that was on DVD-ROM. But CD-ROMs are still more popular since there's still a lot of people with older PCs who might be updating their RAM and video cards but still don't have a DVD-ROM drive.

Oh, I see. I don't really follow computer games that much other than NBA Live. Now I know computer games also release in DVD. Thankyou.

bigger games (2.5gb+) like GTA:SA are now usually released in DVD format mostly.

Winning Eleven 8 was released in DVD format for the PC also.

There you go, actually more than I was aware of. Still, CD-ROMs haven't become outmoded just yet.

I always figured it's usually 'collector's editions and the like were released as DVDs.

I think CD this year and DVD next year because of next-gen consoles. (It's a tough decision)

Thu Aug 04, 2005 10:30 am

Nah, I think they will still go CD's in 2007. It will just probably have to be 3 cds (if that's how much space they need.

Go there and look for Calling All PC Players to take a survey about the PC games.

Nba live 2001 had 512 x 512 textures and that was 1 cd...

That game was seriously ahead of its time... Too bad that piece of shit was unplayable.
