NBA finals patch

Fri Jul 01, 2005 5:02 am

i like in NBA 2k5 they had the champioship patch on the jersey

thats wat they should do in nba live(with a better championship celebration)

its the little things that count you kno

cause this is wat u been working for and wats the point of playin all those games and when u win the coveted trophy its like little emotion

they should go back to wat they did in 2003 with the championship

that was a good presentation

that makes you want to work to be able to have that trophy

I agree that it's a nice detail, but there's a lot of other things I'd like to see before that.

I agree with Andrew...it would be a nice little improvement. But there is bigger things we need to concentrate on. 8-)

Yeah, but those "little touches" were in the game before. Then EA took them out, or in this case, truncated the trophy celebration (Live 2003 had a great one - 2004 was good as well)... If it was already pretty cool, why change it?

My real issue with Live isn't that they can't get things right - as far as the presentation and interface goes - it just seems like EA doesn't always maintain beneficial features from year to year, and so a great little touch in one edition of Live that everyone was begging for vanishes in the next edition of the game.

I don't think the Finals logo ever appeared on the jerseys in NBA Live. I can't recall ever seeing it apart from jersey patches from the community.

To clarify - I was only referring to the celebration and presentation of the championship cutscene that jay D1 was speaking of, and not the championship patch on the jersey. The celebration in 2003 was pretty epic, the one in 2004 was nice also. Both included David Stern. The invisible man hands you the trophy in 2005, the team jumps around for a few seconds and it's over. I just think little touches like that (and the general on-court tension/celebrations) go a long way to making the game more involving. Live seems to have it right one year, then forgets it the next.
