Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

Now that Wade is on the cover, the game has to improve many functions of the game. Now, I looked at the screenshots, and one improvement I've seen from last year is that it actually looks like an NBA basketball game, not a carton looking replica of the NBA like 2005. Good. So now this game needs to focus on making the game look like an NBA game.
Look at an NBA game. Tell me what a real game includes that Live 05 did not, and post ideas to make it actually look like a real game.

On the top of my head; one thing that has always bugged me is the replay cameras. Their like following the player behind him and stuff like that... I mean, put some realism to it at least, have fixed camera angles. Have actual camera positions that are common in broadcasting today and not some made-up ones. To ad more realism, they need to have a realistic user-interface.

Another thing that isn't real is the pace of the game. NBA Live is bascially an arcade game to me. Also I think all of the "freestyle" stuff is stupid. I just want a real NBA game.

I disagree there. Freestyle control simply allows greater control over the players which is what we want and need to make NBA Live as lifelike as possible in terms of controlling the action. Put simply, as long as Freestyle is realistic, it doesn't have any negative effective on the realism of the game.

I noticed the jerseys are MUCH shinier. I REALLY hope they can get Kobe on the cover next year.

As far as I know Kobe's still signed to a deal with Nintendo for Kobe Bryant's NBA Courtside. If that's the case, EA cannot sign him to endorse their product in any way.

ea never pays attention to the damn fans in the game....... they still look the same from like nba live 2000
also... whether u use tmac or kobe there's alsmost no difference in their style....they should make each nd individual players move, dribble, nd shoot differently from each other... if dats too much, at least the superstars.

jeah the fans are still as thin as paper

Well stated. It's actually an art to break a defender down with freestyle moves on 2005, the only problem I have with it is the unbelievably catch up bug that allows the defender to get back too quickly after you break them down and on fastbreaks.
Needs more realistic fastbreaks and more play calling on offense and defense. I want a strategic Basketball Sim. We have NBA street for the arcade so let me run my offense and defense accordingly. Every team plays a different offensive and defoensive style based on personel so I would like to have that reflected more also. Atleast by Next Gen 2007. I expect vast improvements by then.

Yep, and by the looks of things nothing's going to change...

damn you phoenix. It's all their fault, now we'll have 130 point games all the time.

Freestyle is very important for me, so u can do what u ever wanna do...

Well the fast breaks were a big problem of last year. The passing was a bit too slow. I guess they're gonna fix that. Hopefully not a turbo fest.
As for freestyle..I don't really like it since you can abuse it. Basically it's one of the only ways to go through defense and you can keep on going trial and error over and over again. Left C-stick, nop, don't work....Right C-stick, nop, don't work...What kind of idiotic basketball player just keeps on doing moves to try and get past their defender? It looks really foolish when a spin move fails and you try it about 3 times and finally get through the defender. When has the freestyle been realistic except for triple threat and moving on the post situations? I've never liked the idea that the only way through get through defenders is through doing spin moves.

I agree....people jus dribble the ball the ball the whole possession with the same guy. I think they should make it where if you dribble too much....you'll turn the ball over.

Please look when the last post has been made in a thread to make sure it isn't very old when you post a reply.
You revived a thread that was almost 4 months old for no particular reason; please try not to do that again...

i think people keep putting to much into the graphics. i personally could use the same graphics from live 2000 if the gameplay was top notch and the dynasty as deep as maddens. imo these 2 are the most important things, graphics come in last. the minor improvements to graphics that naturally happen each year is good enough to me, wasteing time on shit like players sweat is pretty lame imo.

it's just 3 things really
1. the court's too small
2. the crowd looks like sh*t
3. the game needs more depth(like madden)

1. i hate the fact that when you have the ball in the closing seconds of a quarter the cpu starts bumping the hell out of you so that you can't get off a decent shot. it's sooo fake and cheesy.....
2. you should be able to tie a player up and then have a jumpball for possession, it could make for great defensive strategy....
3. a player should have a specific special reaction after a big or clutch basket, especially a game winner. i think they may be doing this for their new game.
4. the coaches should mirror their real life cunterparts. j. van gundy should be animated and pacing the whole entire game while phil jackson sits calmly barking out orders. it's trivial but it would be awesome!
5. make the court bigger and the hoops a little higher, no?
6. improve the playcalling so your players will actually run the set play! LOL
i'll think o' some more later....
