Downloading it now. I can also offer to mirror the file on the NLSC if you wish.

I can't open the toolkit since I'm using MS Access 2000...

It said the file was created by a newer version of Access...

Oh no...

Sun Mar 09, 2003 6:24 pm

Same with Access 97.

what a great tool!!!
works fine on XP, but few bugs:

 can edit only the 1st[home] jersey in Edit Teams -> Gear

 Edit Coaches window and many other windows will not open

EDIT: whoops didn't read it's a beta, sorry

Still without a toolkit

Mon Mar 10, 2003 8:31 am

I'm using Access 97 and I'm still without a working toolkit.Neither this one nor Jonathan's work on Access 97 :( Can someone do something on this please ?

Thanks in advance guys. :?

Mon Mar 10, 2003 9:29 am

I have Windows XP, how do i get Access??

And please don't tell me anything that involves buying it

Mon Mar 10, 2003 10:46 am

what program should i open it with and where do i download it

Mon Mar 10, 2003 12:32 pm

Sorry guys. I thought MDE files worked across platforms. I guess I was wrong about that. I'll have to find an older version of Access so I can make MDE files because Access XP/2002 will only let me convert 2002 projects to MDE files.

If you have Access 2002 and like the toolkit, congrats :D

If you don't have Access XP/2002, sorry :( You'll have to wait until I come back from vacation (the 16th) and get my hands on Access 97 or 2000.

Andrew, thanks for offering the mirror. Perhaps we will work something out when I get back?

Mon Mar 10, 2003 1:08 pm

This is a great tool...extremely user friendly :D When you get back from vacation, will you release a final version or will you be working on one with older versions of Access?

Jonathan's toolkit for NBA Live 2001 works with NBA Live 2003. It can't edit a few of the details, but I use it conjunction with DB Commander for the NLSC rosters, and there are no problems editing what needs to be edited.

Andrew, thanks for offering the mirror. Perhaps we will work something out when I get back?

Just let me know. I have virtually unlimited space for our FilePlanet directory, so it's no trouble. :)

Would you please add a browse button, so that we can find the database file that we want to edit? This would be a lot easier than having to type the line to indicate where it's located (i.e. C:\mydocuments\nbalive2003\etc...) Also, would it be possible to include a small window which will indicate which database we are working on at the moment?

I was trying to change the ISCREATED for a particular player to FF, but I couldn't find that option. How would I go about changing this?

This tool is looking great so far, keep up the great work. I will play around with it a little more, later this evening & try to provide some more feedback.

To Artcade:
I'm planning on adding a browse feature but I don't know how yet. Don't worry though, I'll figure it out and add it in the next release.
About that ISCREATED option: I coulda' swore I added that feature at the bottom of the first tab of the Edit Player screen. Maybe there is a bug. I'll have to check it out when I get back from my vacation.

When I get back on Sunday, I plan on polishing up the web site, and then I'll continue to work on the toolkit. Making an Access 97/2000 version should take no time at all. All I have to do is get my hands on the program so I can convert.

To Metaphysical3:
Thanks for the compliments. Can you please e-mail me, describing some of the bugs so I can fix them?

I have only received one e-mail so far (thanks Peter). I'd love to hear more suggestions for this toolkit, especially concerning the sections I've completed. But I understand the most do not have Access XP/2002, so I'll be patient :)

Thanks

It's very good!

Hmmm...I think it would be a better idea to discuss any issues with the toolkit, here, instead of with emails. That way, your email won't get flooded with the same suggestions.

I noticed that your appearance options (hair type, eye color, body color, body type, and muscle texture) and gear options (headwear, eyewear, left neck tattoo, right neck tattoo, bicep, etc.) are more of the descriptive type. Whereas, most of the dbf suggestions given by patchers are numerical values. Would you be willing to add these numerical values right before or right after your descriptive words? For example, your options for body type are: thin, thin/normal, normal, normal/bulky, and bulky. They could be changed to look like this: thin (3), normal (4), etc. I'm not sure if those are the numerical values that correspond with those 2 descriptions, but you get the idea, right?

Also, for the status options in the general tab, if we want the iscreated to be "true", do we just check it and leave it unchecked if we want it to reflect "false"?

Thanks

That's some good points you've got there, artcade.

Thanks for the heads up. Got it fixed. I also added a "browse" feature when selecting the database files.

I'll be releasing a next version in a week or so.

Mon Mar 17, 2003 4:16 pm

will there be an "add jersey" option???
i think it's really needed...

this will be the best toolkit for nba live 2003 for sure!
great job bunny!

:) :D

Excellent toolkit so far. Once the functionality is finished, this should kick ass!

If there were a feature to add new team records in teams.dbf and start a team from scratch by adding players in the roster edit that would really be cool!

Wed Mar 19, 2003 2:15 am

found a bug!

the body-type values are all wrong!!!

stockton's says pretty bulky!
but actually he has the short shorts body-type

please fix...
