But what would be cool is that players act like this by themsleves. Players should have a special rating for this ... "temperament" ... lets say. And if this is high then arguing and technical fould happen with this guy more often.
I should really take effect in palyoffs and in close games. The temperament feature should be like negative rating for the player.
I think that would be cool.
The only problem with leaving it completely automated for the user-controlled team is that it could end up being quite random, even with a hidden rating/attribute. On any given foul call, you're at the mercy of the game. With the way the CPU works on Superstar difficulty, I can just imagine the frequency of user-controlled players getting ejected, unless there's a Technical Foul Frequency slider.

Yep it should be completely automated, but the technical foul calling logic behind it should be very thought-out. Lets say technical fouls per game for the whole season should be about ~1 ... and tens of other things.
But that should have positive effect to ... most extreem perhaps when high tempered player argues with referee and then referee talks with assistant ref and chnges hes desition. Or next time instead of giving offencive foul again ... it whistles defencive foult to other team.
But that should be only a little addon to the game ... not a dominant key feature. + it should give more colour to those cutscenes:)

it would be nice, nowdays it is a reality in the nba
Sat Jun 11, 2005 3:53 am
although it's a reality it's undoubtedly something the NBA doesn't want.

I just hope that if one day they do put techs into the game, that sheed is still playing

I'm trying to figure out how they can put full fledged fighting (complete with controls and everything!) in NHL games. Then they get sent to the penalty box, but we can't have a player argue with a ref and get a T?
In MVP Baseball the coaches can argue with the Ump and you can keep pressing a buttion to intensify the arguement, which in turn gets you thrown out.

I'd prefer it not to be automated for the reasons I gave above.

That doesn't really happen in the NBA.

its simple, the nba does not want it in thier game. its 3 totally different leagues you are talking about here and if 2 dont care if fighting/argueing is in then thats cool, but the nba wants it out.

hey i kno they wont have those kind of technical fouls but i feel that they should or get rid of the audio that goes something like this
if u listn closely if u bump a player or go for a steal they will complain
be like come on ref the been doin it all nite
or call somethin what are u doin ref
other complains
so y not have it its part of the game
either that or take out the audio
Fri Jul 01, 2005 12:10 am
That would be pretty kool...but it won't happen.
Fri Jul 01, 2005 1:52 am
i think that they should incorporate technical fouls because if u are the pistons rasheed gets a technical nearly every game and we want this game to be as realistic as possible dont we?
Fri Jul 01, 2005 1:03 pm
Once again: the NBA will not allow EA Sports to include unsportsmanlike technicals in the NBA Live series.
Fri Jul 01, 2005 5:59 pm
It's be great for example if a foul is whistled, there's a button to press so we can talk with the ref, but not too much, otherwise you'll get a techincal foul.

You know it will never happen. Jeesh. Won't people learn that Mr. David Stern is the most powerful man in the world? (I'm so serious.)
Fri Jul 01, 2005 6:35 pm
They used to have flagrants at one point, but they seem to have taken that out too. Maybe they could at least get flagrants back in.

I know. That's why I wrote "It'd". Did you want I write "It'd be great if David Stern..." too ?

Well I was referring to the main post.

Ummm.......what did you just say???

Technical Fouls and Unsportsmanlike Fouls were great ideas to be included in the Game BUT NBA is conservative unlike NFL & NHL so let's just focus on other areas LIKE GAMEPLAY & DEEPER DYNASTY MODE..

The only problem was flagrants always resulted in injuries. If they bring them back in I'd hope that injuries and flagrant fouls are not dependant on each other (though certainly some hard flagrant fouls should result in injuries).

Andrew wrote:I meant the NBA would insist on such a rating being a hidden attribute, which means it probably wouldn't be called a "Temper" rating.
"Intensity rating"
Sun Jul 03, 2005 2:41 pm
Yeah, they might go for that.
Sun Jul 03, 2005 3:21 pm
Yes, bring in some kind of temper, flair, intensity rating... all the same. There don't have to be fights but u should have a chance to argue calls and stuff...

This is possible! Great Idea!
