what do coaches do and has anyone got a tech for the coach and if u did how did u get it?

Coaches and players cannot get technical fouls. The only technical fouls that are in the game are the ones given when

a) a team calls a timeout when they have none left
b) violation of the 3 second defensive rule

The coaches are basically for a more realistic feel, a superficial detail (but a nice touch).

That may be the case in NBA2K3, but in NBA Live 2003, players and coaches can't get technical fouls.

There ARE technical fouls for players in NBA Live 2003.

In one game, it was late in the fourth quarter, and I was losing by 5, so I was forced to make intentional fouls.
So when I called an intentional foul, I guess my player pushed the other guy too hard, so it resulted in a technical foul.

So to answer the question, technical fouls do happen to players in Live '03.

Uhh thats called a flagrant foul

Yeah, that's a flagrant foul, somewhat different. There are no technicals in NBA Live except for the ones that I mentioned earlier.

Uhh, no, I'm pretty sure the opposing player only took 1 free throw instead of 2.

It has already been confirmed that there are no technicals in the game aside from the ones that have been mentioned, the confirmation coming from EA themselves through interviews and so forth. I don't know about the player taking one free throw, but I've seen bugs like that occur before.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I guess it must have been a bug that caused the player to only shoot 1 free throw.

I would say so. Kind of like back in NBA Live 2001, when my own player fouled his teammate, giving me two free throws. :)
