Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

I'd totally overhaul the ratings system. Other than that, I'd totally overhaul the way blocking shots and court spacing is handled.
The spacing's better but I think they should increase the size of the court, it looks too small.

make them say your name(whatever it is, even if its like french)....i know that is impossible but you never said it had to be realistic

they have text-to-speech tools for computers, i dont see why it cant be added...

gameplay that doesnt' get old after 30minutes, in other words smart computer opponents who aren't predictable, are able to be competitive without making you miss wide open layups/dunks.
Since that won't be happening in the forseeable future, owner mode would kickass. Being able to set prices for concessions, tickets, relocating teams, building a new stadium, etc etc.

According to one of the posters here who works in the IT industry and has had experience developing text-to-speech tools, the current text-to-speech technology isn't sophisticated enough to allow such a feature just yet.

Kobe to have sex with a Hot Chick...
I'm joking, they should add Owner Mode like in MVP.

Why not, i mean it soesnt have to complicated, and you could save a file with your name once the computer has come up with it.
It could have somewhere where you select sound files with sounds to make your name (eg. k, long o, b, long e).
Or it could have lots of different stock names that it could have and if you named your player one of htese it uses it, if not it uses no. 8, no. 9 etc
Sat Jun 18, 2005 9:12 pm
the ability to create set plays would kick ass.
other ideas i liked were creating new teams and expansion

^If the playcalling AI is like the 05 one then Houston, we have a problem
Anyways, I'll pile them here so I post them only once, lol
1. An alley-oop slider-so I'm not dumbfounded why LeBron, who I trained as Jordan pixelated in the new millenium misses alley-oops in Superstar mode even from a pass from God himself.
2. A call screen play because the CPU team-mate is too dumb to maintain a screen for my shooter.
3. Different kinds of passes that adapts to situations. Overhead passes seem to abound in 05 even when uncalled for.
4. The ability to have freedom of movement in off-season. Off-season in 05 was a 1 attempt effort. I was trying to hire Kyle Korver for my team. He turned down my offer but I can't sweeten the deal for him to reconsider. negotiations are multi-stage events. In relation to this, why can't I access my PDA in off-season? I want to review my scouting of incoming rookies when I'm going to draft.
5. Of course, the mother of all features that I want is a name recognition system. Never mind if its just a selection of names in the game, as long as I don't see my future HOF players be named #4, #31..... BLEH!

I'm just repeating what that person said in regards to some of the suggestions regarding text-to-speech. A lot of things are easier said than done, especially with hardware limitations of the current generation consoles.

In regards to saying players names, why the hell can't they impliment what they had a couple of years back??? The system worked fine.
Eg. You draft for your franchise, at no. 2, Alexander Smith. Now, there's a plethora of current NBA players with the surname Smith, and old lives used to recognise this and add in commentary such as "Bogut, passes inside to 'Smith'". etc. Now that's not an unreasonable expectation? Also, if they were to take this further, you could possibly have him say 'Alexander Smith' if you base this sytem on first and last names. Eg. it may sound 'funny' but you could say Alexander, as in, Courtney Alexander, and Smith as in, Joe? The two names would not link 100% correctly as they weren't directed to be sad together, but it could work in some cases?
Also, I notice when playing Dynasty mode for a number of years, there a strong similarities in player names through the draft. If the first half of my above suggestion was implimented, I'd like EA to have a sound bank of Marv and Steve saying the surnames of every possible surname that is randomly chosen for a generated draft pick? I know their would be lots, but if you use a combination of say, 100 original surnames, combined with all surnames of current NBA players, I feel that would be substantial and practicle?
I just can't stand the commentators referring to players as #59 etc.
Sun Jun 19, 2005 3:31 pm
Agreed, the existing surnames audio was a good solution. The ability to recognise existing first names as well would be great (since the PA Announcer wouldn't have to resort to the jersey number either), but the surname would be better than the jersey number alone.
Sun Jun 19, 2005 3:37 pm
Exactly, the old system wasn't perfect, as some random international player with an original surname would not exist in the sound directory, but it was good enough! If I was drafting in the 2nd round and wasn't fussed about who I was taking, I used to pick them based on surname, just so they could have their names announced!!!

Half decent gameplay, followed by a better dynasty mode. And no, not a clone of Madden's because it gets old fast. That being said, there's some crazy new thing in Madden dynasty mode where you hire teachers and take IQ tests for players in the draft or something weird like that. I bet we'll get something like the newspaper, which sucks balls.

mvp baseballs owner mode is much better
You've gotta manage the budget, you start with a crappy stadium with low capacity, then u gottta earn more money through concessions and stuff to upgrade to more seats, fireworks ...scoreboard upgrades, adboards...
Mon Jun 20, 2005 1:08 am
Yea thats wat I was talking about. I want to choose wheater I want to be a Owner of a team or the current mode (GM).
Mon Jun 20, 2005 2:01 am
I'd love to see real court announcers with real NBA teams presentations (especially the Pistons one, it's amazing).

Adding just one thing to a game coming from a milti-billion company such as EA is pathetic. I want more than just one thing! and here's the list:
-NFL Superstar Mode in Madden 2006 is pretty good. I'd like this mode to be implemented in Nba Live 2006 if not no later than 2007. If you don't know what I mean just read this -
http://sports.ign.com/articles/613/613583p1.html
-MVP Baseball 2005 has some very big classic names in their legends pool - Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmy Foxx, Dennis Eckersley, Nolan Ryan, etc etc. Nba Live 2005 by not having Michael Jordan, Jerry West is not very appealing - personal opinion.
-EA stop wasting our time patching and tweaking the game, and make a game more enjoyable and with long lasting effect. Nba Live 2005 gets boring after 3-5 season because it's all the same sh*t!
to be continued...
Mon Jun 20, 2005 9:40 am
furthermore Madden and MVP series are many years ahead of Live. When is Live going to catch them up?
Mon Jun 20, 2005 10:13 am
another very interesting link of the newest great mode to be included in Madden 2006 and to say the least it looks very promising.

Mon Jun 20, 2005 2:35 pm
I don't think it's a matter of them being lazy, rather that Madden is ahead in the Dynasty department and it isn't feasible for NBA Live to accomplish the same level within 12 months.
