euro league in nba 2006 bad or good?

Sat May 14, 2005 8:32 pm

why not do like nhl series and do anther leagues in the game except of
nba league only.?

well i knew that a lot of us gamers that play the nba series are from europ
so why just be satisfied with the nba game
when ea grop can put more teams and players in the game?

NBA Live is a simulation of the National Basketball Association, so foreign leagues aren't really a priority. Licensing issues would be another problem. While I wouldn't be against other league teams (and if they're going to do that, some national teams would be good too), there are more pressing issues to be addressed first.

Avi is right. After all there are lots of gamers from europe that are more familiar with the Euroleague than with the NBA.
Plus, EA can create an Euroleague Edition that'll cost about 10$ and you'll be able to add it NBA Live.
In Israel, they did it with FIFA 99, when they created a cd full of Israeli leagues and everything, it cost something like 5$ back then.

Yes...but it is NBA Live, not Euroleague live so their focus is going to be on the NBA. And as I said before, licensing issues (ie likeness rights) come into play as well. They can't just include players who aren't in the NBA for free.

Euroleague would be a huge waste of time.....they would worry to much about that and wouldnt worry enuff about gameplay and that is more important that some Euroleage that only a few people want....EA will never do this and i personally hope they dont

We self make Euro mod everyear..:o

for c_cryder15 , in the hocky series (nhl) they (ea) put europen teams .

personally i think that more teams and players in the game would do just good.
it will be more interesting and fun but this is may ida :)

Hard to disagree with that, it's just there are more important issues concerning gameplay and Dynasty Mode that should be addressed first.

I agree with you.

No doubt it'd be nice to see some Euro teams in the game but there is many other things they can put their time to and improve the game before they do that.

it would rock having euro teams. think about it, you can draft a euro guy in dynasty mode, and leave him in europe for a few years and occasionally use him even and if not being able to use him, then see how he is doing over there. i would love that

besides Euroleague teams play differently from NBA teams...screw the extra teams. they get boring after the first few times you played with them anyway. Make a separate game or just play with the euroleague mod.

AcarloI, post with just an emoticon = (N). either post something more than that or don't bother posting at all

Living in America we have barely no coverage of the Euroleague so that would be a waste of memory to me.

By the way, Andrew that picture of Conan rules.

The first problem I see from this euroleague approach thing is that nothing works like the NBA... There are no rigid trading rules regarding salary cap or anything of a sort. Some national teams I could very likely see in the NBA Live games in a not so distant future... Like if they did one of the next olympics or something. So you could play through the olympic tournament in Live or something.

I don't see them adding a total "off NBA" league thingy... Maybe when they can't come up with anything else...

I am a european and I follow more NBA than euroleagues... NBAs got most of the best players and the game has that raw in-your-face action...

Tue Jun 07, 2005 3:48 am

It would be nice just to have the olympics in there and be able to make your own us dreamteam. no trades posible just a tournament.

as far as i am concerned all other countries can be damned. this is called NBA Live and its called that for a reason. the last thing i wanna do is have the devs time wasted added a bunch of players that no one knows to a game that needs many many many more things added to it. i mean no one knows most of these foreign players so all the rateings would be way off and everyone who wanted these teams added would just cry about it anyway.

besides the world is well represented in the nba now. each year that goes by more and more foreign players join the nba. if the players are good enough for me to even care who they are then they will make it in the nba, until then i dont want to see them in person or video form.

That's pretty absolute right there... so Manu was not good enough at 24 and suddenly became excellent at 25?

Tue Jun 07, 2005 8:56 am

Maybe like a euro allstar team with nba players like in NHL would be nice.

Tue Jun 07, 2005 11:12 am

NBA Live 2005 already has that.

Tue Jun 07, 2005 1:12 pm

Basketball is not nearly as popular in Europe, as say... Football, so I don't think EA would pay big bucks to get licensing from the Euroleague if they don't think they can make a profit from making the game. Unless they come up with a FIBA game, there probably won't be an official basketball game with Euroleague.
Personally I don't think Euroleague should be included, because, as stated several times, this is NBA Live, not Basketball Live or FIBA Live, which means the only relevant teams are the NBA teams. We would probably be seeing NBDL in the NBA Live series before we see the Euroleague.

before manu was in the nba i had no idea who he was nor did i care. if he was in a NBA game before he reached the nba i would never have used him.

Tue Jun 07, 2005 2:23 pm

The main issue remains the development of any additional modes. Once you get past any licensing issues and include the players, most folks would probably want a seperate tournament mode. NBA Live has features that still need to be refined, features that are much more relevant to an NBA simulation than Euroleague teams and players.

Tue Jun 07, 2005 2:35 pm

Also, International basketball is totally different from the NBA. The court sizes, lines and boundaries to begin with. Then the NBA has the defensive 3 secounds rule and other minor adjustments which make for more entertaining basketball. e.g. I think off the glass alley oops aren't allowed in international bball?

Tue Jun 07, 2005 3:13 pm

That's true, though in some cases it would just be a matter of the mode ignoring a rule. But at the end of the day, it means more development time that could go to improving what's already in the game.

Tue Jun 07, 2005 4:06 pm

as far as the rules concern, they just have to put the olympic rules in that tournament. nhl 2005 has the same mode
